Woah, cool! I second the comment about the History Channel. I tried watching it for the first time after years and was shocked at what it had become.

Fantastic piece of work, beautifully done. Kind of makes you think about how fragile peace actually is.
I love these photos. It's amazing how many of these places still exist, largely unchanged.
That really is one awesome way of showing the past vs the present because it is defiantly a super creative way of displaying this kind of stuff and just where that moment took place, very fascinating.
Still the most humbling part about any war-related history is the echoes of death that places and items from it carry onward through the centuries. These transposed photos of Europe, even firearms from the era that survive and exist in private owners' armories, are quick and powerful reminders.
i've heard that in Europe today you can sometimes still find unexploded WW2 Ordnance across the country side…very dangerous
