ah, I can so relate to this being a Floridian for so long... wanting to enjoy the changing seasons and maybe have a white Christmas if I'm lucky.

...but chances are, I'm likely going to regret wishing for snow once I do move up north.

Hahaha yeaahhh 15 years in Detroit certainly fixed my wonder and love for snow... rather it transformed it into utter hatred and permanent back problems.

I enjoy snow the same way I enjoy New York City: in small doses but never in immersion.

Snow is such a weird mysterious thing, I can only imagine how cold it is yet being so soft looking.
Like shaved ice, but natural. But I hate the cold, 60^d is my limit and it is still to cold. So
anything below seems horrible and makes me want to huddle in my blankets.

I did 37 years of the top panel in PA, now that I'm the bottom panel in FL I'm not the least bit sad to be able to going swimming on Christmas day.

Oh, I have SO been there!

My Wife wants us to move to New England, where she grew up, when we retire... Here's how to enjoy snow...
1. Be Retired, so you don't have to go to work...
2. Have a propane tank in the backyard, so you're toasty warm inside...
3. Have a pantry that holds 3 months of food, so you DON'T HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE UNLESS YOU WANT TO...

It's the method I plan to use...

When you start feeling nostalgic for snow, it's time to remind yourself. Take a couple weeks off in January. Rent a camper and find a year-round camp ground near Buffalo, (NY that is.) Keep the radio tuned to news and traffic until it's time to go home. After digging your way out to the highway, then negotiating snowy, slippery, roads crowded by insane drivers on your way back, you'll have had enough of snow for a good ten years or so.

Living in Australia but having had some christmases in the northern hemisphere I can definitely say nothing beats having Christmas in winter :3
For the rest of the year though I like not having to deal with ice or snow.

I live in Buffalo, NY. It can be annoying at times, but I love snowy climates. Winter doesn't bother me and I hate summer! I could never live in hotter, sunnier places.
