i did this awhile ago for my mom for a x-mass present but forgot to post it lol because she misses our old west coast native family back home and i thought i would be nice to bring some of that back into my moms life and i do some more of my old style of art to get back in touch and do something a little different and refresh myself eh anywho

were coast salish so we are a northwest canadian style so its similar in ways but Haida colours are just mainly just black and red while my peoples art has alot more blues and greens with the black and red or just blues and blacks and green and black but i have seen many hiada art as well adopt these colours and im very honoured to have you think thatt and ill take that as a complement because Haida has some amazing art im actually working on a our tribes totem thunderbird ontop of a whale and from the T'Sou-ke tribe it might be a small close family but im proud to have that family's blood running through my veins i miss them very much ^^
Ahh!! I love seeing others with Northwest Native pride!! :'D I was born in Kingston, Ontario and lived all of my life down in the states but my mother was raised right on Haida Gwaii and I take a lot of pride in my roots. The only influence I have is through my mother and seeing a celebrating in Washington DC for an opening of a Native American museum so I don't know a lot? But I learn what I can even if I'm far away from my people. My heart has such a longing for the west and I hope to go visit the island or even live near by once I'm ready to move out and back to Canada!
I'm really interested in seeing more from you and thank you for sharing this with me! I don't meet a lot of others who draw in a Northwest style and actually have ties to the culture so this is really exciting! ;v;
And.. ironically, I came to your page through your girlfriend- She lives in WV which is where I live! (We never met/talked but I did find her through the Wvfurs group.)
