Though it is declared non-canon, that sort of backstory would make her and Patrick's incestuous attraction a bit more plausible, being separated and not quite developing that kind of incestuous taboo.
Still, Puz looks utterly adorable in that sari! Also, guessing more than likely Puzzle isn't Hindi, though that would be kinda funny the first time she saw Nightshade get her nom on with a steak...

It could also make it more plausible since they grew up separated so they really don't have that sibling rivalry thing going on. Y'know, for the Puz/Pat shipping crowd :B
LOL! Puz isn't Hindi, but she probably would be terrified seeing Nightshade chow down on a rare steak :B

What's truly ironic,. is that some incredible saris dp a great job showing off the curve of the body. It really is in how it is designed to drape and fold across the form. They (the Saris) are an incredible art form unto themselves. Going over to Little India, east of Los Angeles, in Artesia, California, I think, there are stores upon stores of all these just amazing Saris, from simple to ones that make Bollywood seem plain and staid. And you can try them all on. O_O!
My wife the costume enthusiast can do one. Scottish decent BTW. The average Sari would be way short for Puzzle to wear. She would either have to go with a duple length or get custom.
I would assume in a world of vastly different sized people they have different standard lengths.

Okay, well, I don't have that kind of personal experience with cultural costumes. The video you linked is very helpful so thank you for that, but in the future, it would be more helpful to include that as an explanation than just saying 'this isn't proper' and not explaining why until later.
You have no idea. We do Steampunk because my wife LOVES Victorian clothing. She took seven outfits to a four day con. Worn all of them.
There are saris, sideless surcoats, peasant dresses pirate outfits. And far too many Victorian outfits.
Sue said you can adjust the sari by making the pleat fronds smaller or fewer Yes, I get a lot of this. I tie corsets too.

I have no idea if the sari is 100% accurate. I just think it's a lovely picture, and a cute outfit for Puz.
Having said that, if the sari ISN'T 100% accurate, perhaps that could be canon? Puz only lived there for a little bit and perhaps wasn't able to absorb all the proper nuances of the sari? I dunno, spitballing.

It's more of a thing where I spent several hours researching saris, and found looots of different versions for different occasions. I was like 'what would an immigrant, middle-class, agnostic English girl wear?' and I mostly just had to guess, since that's not really something you can readily find.
I imagine her sari stylings are really rough, since she would only wear them for special events nowadays.
But yeah, even if it's not 100% accurate, I tried X3
