Nope, and he doesn't have their blood chit either. He's actually not even in the Flying Tigers. His story begins four years before the 1st AVG was formed (see my main page for details).
The patch you're seeing there is for the 24th Pursuit Squadron, which happened to also have a tiger as its emblem. The 24th PS was based at France Field, and then later Albrook Field, in the Panama Canal Zone. It was one of the Air Corps squadrons that was tasked with defending it before and during WWII. The unit saw no action in any of the theaters of the war, and was deactivated in 1946, but he happens to be in that squadron only because it's relevant to his story.

Easy to have that misconception, I know, but that's the explanation for that.

As soon as i saw this, the pose and expression reminded me of Wild Bill Kelso as he first appears in this clip -https://youtu.be/CPnwlNvwBLI?t=8
I'm sure that they are both very different characters, but there is definately something in the look for me that sparks a connection.
Also i'm definitely a fan of Wild Bill Kelso, heheheh!
Great arts by the way, and he looks like an interesting character for a story :)
