Thank you!!! I’m moved by what you said about my piece :)
I’m glad you could find a special meaning in it.

You're welcome! Keep experimenting with classical stuff!
You're welcome! And I definitely agree with you; experimentation is another great source of inspiration!
Excellent spotlight episode! Each track was incredibly interesting as they played back to back! Hek of an ending :')
I really liked your piece, it was actually really close to making it into this episode :)
Thanks man! Really appreciate what you said. And yeah, I used a lot of weird time signatures. 15/16 Intro killed me. xD
Alot of great songs aswell, especially liked the last one from Haida. :3 Sooooo goooood.

No problem, your piece was awesome! Also, wow, 15/16, that's crazy! I need to experiment more with weird time signatures. I also need to show your piece to my boyfriend as he really likes progressive metal and loves weird time signatures!
He probably likes Periphery and Animals as leaders then. First one is my main inspiration for most of my music. :3 And thanks again. :)
We both really like Animals as Leaders and TesseracT. He's actually trying to learn several of Tosin Abasi's parts because he has an 8-string guitar :)
Ah Thank you so much for picking my song!
Everyone here has really good songs!

Interesting selection this week!
As an answer to your question: Yes, I do find that the best sources of inspiration come out of the blue rather than searching for it. I end up binge listening to DDR tracks when I look for inspiration.

Hopefully the good kind of interesting!
I'll often binge watch my favorite scenes from old movies, or listen to old songs when I'm in search or inspiration.

I got a listen to it, and I like all the songs you've listed :)
I get inspiration a few ways, and one of them happens to be hearing my hubby randomly sing a melody. Inspiration comes in many forms, and that's my favorite way ^^

I think you and I tend to have similar tastes when it comes to picking music :)
I get inspiration from Aden sometimes too. There is always music coming from his room, whether it's a new album he's listening to, or something he's playing on guitar, sometimes if I tune in it can ignite a little spark.

Thank you so much for the feature! It's really reassuring when I'm starting out on a different genre that I'm not making some truly awful decisions
My inspiration is usually very sudden. If it's with a band then it tends to be driven by the creative energy in the room at the time, although there have been songs I've loved that were truly painful to write and record and some didn't even make 'sense' musically until the rough mixes were chopped up and rearranged into usable ideas. Otherwise though I'll take inspiration from anything from an angry phone call to watching a movie, hearing a new album by an artist I like or just finding an interesting sound whilst noodling around for something else. I don't feel like I have a particular pattern to how I work in terms of writing.. it's definitely a lot easier these days doing the mixing part more than the composition

You're welcome!
Inspiration definitely always find new and creative ways to arise, and I can definitely relate to composition being much more difficult than mixing.
