[ALT CHAR] Xochipilli "Chip" the Flower Dragon
Introducing Xochipilli, or known as "Chip" the Flower Dragon.
He was abducted by the Demon Lord as an hatchling and spent chained up by the forbidden caverns entrance where he spent scaring away intruders or whoever dares set a foot near him. He has a massive knowledge after being able to overhear everything that the Demon Lord has done in his home. Chip was an unique dragon, instead of wings, he grew petals, which he named himself Xochipilli because it meant "flower prince" in Aztec folklore. As the entrance to the forbidden caverns was bleak and bare with mostly monochromatic black, grey or white rocks, he stood out like a sore thumb.
It wasn't until when Ratchet's father saw the chained and vicious dragon, he told Chip that he is here to defeat the Demon Lord, and wanted him to go forth and do whatever he wanted, so he decided to set Chip free before venturing into the caverns to save his brother, Dogtooth. After being freed, Chip was bewildered at why this alpha thel freed him, but then escaped to his birthplace, to arrive at a completely annihilated village. He realized the awful truth with the Demon Lord -- he wiped out the entire village from the maps right after he abducted Chip to prevent them from attempting to save Chip. After returning to the forbidden caverns, he overheard the commotion about what happened to Ratchet's father. The Demon Lord did not know that Chip was freed, because of his ailing condition so he didn't step out of the caverns for his geriatric life. Chip waited at the entrance helplessly. Since he had the ability to grow flowers anywhere he wanted. He was able to decorate the entrance of the caverns with flowers that completely camouflaged him.
After the death of Ratchet's father, Chip vowed to block anyone who dares to venture to the caverns. It was the only place that he knew about besides his birthplace, so he might as well call it his home. It wasn't until a few weeks later when Ratchet decided to make the trek to see the forbidden caverns. He accidentally stepped onto Chip's tail (as it was camouflaged by the flowers), where Chip jumped up and roared at the thel. Frightened, Ratchet pleaded with Chip that he meant no harm. When Chip approached the thel, sniffed him around -- he realized this was the son of the alpha thel who freed him. Chip instantly bonded with Ratchet, after a few hours of chatting, Chip finally decided to leave behind the forbidden caverns. Together with Ratchet, they were able to cast a spell to permanently seal the caverns so nobody can ever enter and witness such an abodmination.
Since Ratchet was unable to fly, Chip offered Ratchet a ride, after making a harness that straddled his chest and neck, so Ratchet could ride on his back. Chip was so happy that he finally has a purpose after being held in captive for his entire childhood and early adulthood. He went everywhere with Ratchet, and was able to bring forth flowers to anyone who was sad or lonely. His flowers had an unique look which looked like the end of his tail, and lasted almost forever. Everyone would ask him if they could have one flower grown, he usually gives them a dozen each to show his love and generousity. The village grew to love Chip like a protector of the village, in return it was the most beautiful village in the entire continent.

I am a fan of more earthy characters and ones with nature(subjective to planet). I dig that it looks like a dragon and a bit of a plant. I almost see a mantis with the coloring. A Fairy of dragons. It has a serious and playful appeal.
The art is well drawn, sharp and detail is great. Wings take some practice and time. I dig the petal like wings, head and tail. I could almost picture adulthood or evolution being symbolized with the blooming of those parts.
Great work!

Ah so you're the lucky guy who snatched him up. Was on the fence for a while but decided against it as I'm a terrible adoptee.
