SF-1 Starfire Walkaround Jump Point Gothika
During the early 24th century the United Nations Earth and Space Coalition needed a multi role fighter that was cheap and easy to produce, and yet could last a 100 years of service. The job fell to Kingston/Autokosa Weapons Development and prototype designs began sometime around 2325. The Last Great Civil War (2325-2345) delayed the development of the first true SF-1 until 2350. As humanity finally signed a treaty that ended intercene war between themselves, the SF-1 was finally put in production in favor of the aging North American/Taitsuto F-297 Warbird.
When production began humanity used its early fighter as a scout, interceptor, and pirate deterent. This however changed when the Horks made it into the Sol system and declared thier intent to take over humanity. The Starfire models A,B,C and D would all see major action in the Hork-Human war. Over 30 aces where crowned while flying this fighter.
Starfires took part in every major battle for the Sol system and managed a 3:1 kill ratio against Hork Tack Interceptors. The Starfires combined laser and railgun weaponary accounted for most of the wars early kills until the development of better missiles. The Starfire also managed to become an effective deterent against Hork Interspatial Ballistic Missiles and Torpedos.
The Starfire's crowning moment however came when a squadron of SF-1s fought thier way past the Hork 1st Assault Fleet and struck the Hork homeworld which bares the same name as the species. Though the damage was light the event was compared to the ancient Doolittle raid. 5 Years later on December 9th 2395, The Horks signed the peace treaty, and on the 11th offically joined the U.N.E.S.C.
At the turn of the 25th century the SF-1 is still the primary frontline fighter of humanity. Though talks are in progress to faze the fighter out, its cheap and easy production, plus its stellar battle record may insure the fighter makes to a 100 years of victory.
On 2406 the Anasazi attacked and seized the planet Gothika. With a new enemy the SF-1 is poised to be the spearhead in the U.N.E.S.C.'s counterattack.
