It's also cool you read up on it some. 40k is vast but has both cool and awesome lore/characters and some really dumb moments xD

I've just recently got introduced to the Astartes [5 parts] fan project and it blew my mind. So I started listening to warhammer 40k lore [albeit when i was way in the progress of this piece and realized i could do much more lore-friendly things] so far I've learned about the beginning of that universe, the emperor of man kind, the very very basic explanation of all the races, and now getting into the depths of each one of them. It's really vast and interesting. Never thought it would be this interesting tbh. A lot of people I know are kinda "meh" about 40k, in comparison tot he original warhammer universe. But after listening to the lore for a few days now i'm like, what.. this is insane and intriguing.

It really sucks you in especially once you start to identify with a Faction identity. The game and it's lore is very old by this point and there's lots to read up on, i've been a bit of a fantasy and 40k fan for years and loved both settings but was very sad with the end of fantasy for Sigmar. The newest edition of 40k has also had of a bit mixed reception and the initial start to the new age has been a bit rocky but so far lorewise its been fun and interesting all around to follow for the most part; especially now that my favorite race and factions, Eldar/Dark Eldar, and the Harlequins are coming together for an old prophecy that's been in the lore and hinted at for several years now.

And yeah the mixed reception was well evident. But im glad its actually coming together. And yeah i'm slowly getting through the lore via Utube lore videos \o/ They are great fun and a welcome distraction while im working on art!

And I'm right there with you, I only know a little about 40k and that's because all of my friends are massive nerds about it. But as far as I can tell you did a great job capturing the look and aesthetic of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Great job!

I know the feel. The people I used to hang out with just spammed me with 3h of warhammer lore while I sat there and went " I have no clue what you guys are saying but that sounds neat!"
