His pant ceasing, distorted face went back to normal after Majjari stop caressing him. Sakda was both relieved and anxious since he knew she was his sister, their relationship became more complicated; however, at least she was the one he could really trust amongst the abusive and lavicious lionesses. Still, they were in the pool, after the questionable amorous moment, tried to collect some lotuses.
They retreated from water with a bunch of lotuses in their hands, on the shore they saw a lioness hustled toward the group, other lionesses attentively turned to her with their ears erected and facing to the sound expecting what news she might delivered. She shouted “The Ceremony, Initiating Ceremony has began for the white lion!”
They all standed up to greet her and rapidly asked her of what was going on. “One of the mistress, she started the ceremony all of a sudden, we needed to go there at once or we would missed it, at the city square!” Some lionesses set of their feet and run to the city square, some hurried to spread the news to other unbeknown citizen. But one lioness had her courtesy she called to the couple in the pond “Hey you two, do you hear that, hurry up and get to the square, meet you there” Also she hastly splinted off.
Sakda and Majjari slowly got to the shore, everbody was too awed by the news, no one bothered to collet their remaining work. Sakda was lying his collected lotuses along with the unfold ones, but Majjari softly held his hands and took them from him “Allow me, I’m afraid these beautiful flowers would shriver before they came back” Then she put them vertically in the water-filled porcelein jar “Having their stem submerged in water like this have them fresh for a while”
Sakda was surprised how delicated she was with the flowers despite her strong body and irksome attitude toward male in general. He smiled and did so, submerged the remaining flowers “What is that Initiation Ceremony that lioness talked about?” He asked.
Majjari sighed, took a deep breath, picked one unfolded lotus and started folding it “It’s the ceremony that turned any strayed captured male into a breeder, a legitimate one. normally a captured male must be subjected to many rituals before they could be a candidate for the Initiation Ceremony” She paused and concentrated on the folding. She was clearly annoyed and underwent the folding to calm herself down. Soon enough, she’d got calmer and continued “As long as I know, it is Swari who’s incharge taking Hema for the tour, she must have started the ceremony unauthorized”
Together they sat by the pond, as equal, since there was nobody around they could be themselves, a brother and a sister. Sakda sat by her, unleashed, small breeze gradually dried his fur and cloth, it was pleasingly cold “Why are you so upset about this?” He asked.
The flower was almost finished, folded petals made nice cascaded triangles and the yellow stamen showed it’s most glorious form. She replied “I know she’s in love with Hema, but this time she put it too far, I’d warned her” Then she tucked the finished flower at the back of Sakda’s pinna “This is the last flower of the day, for you. Let’s go somewhere beautiful, we’re all by ourselves now”
He raised his eye brow asking“But what about the ceremony”
Majjari held his hand and lead him “Don’t worry, one day you will undertake it yourself. Now follow me, while everyone else was busying with Hema, let’s go to some interesting place.” Both of them went through the city, given how few the population was comparing to the size of the city she easily choose the desolated path where they had no encounter. The city itself seemed like being abandoned. Sakda was tried keeping up with her fast movement. The farther they go, the slower he’d got. Until he asked her to slow down and allowed himself to rest at a meadow of a tree.
“Sorry, did I run too fast” Majjari said, giving him the water she kept in her bag. Sakda noticed they had been going up hill for some time, since he could see the clustered view of the city over the hill. “Where are we going, is there something beautiful?” he said while gulping water.
Majjari sat down beside him and drank some water “We’re almost there, don’t you see the beautiful scenery down below” she said. Sakda took time to inspect her body, she was graceful and muscular as always, obviously not as tried as him. This added to his curiosity : she was a pristress of course, but why was she so strong almost like a warrior, wasn’t the pristress duty only involve rituals? Not only she seemed strong, she was truly strong obviously from how fast she could go up hill. Sakda asked her “What does the pristress do actually, why are you so strong and agile, how would that possible?”
She smiled and replied him “Our bussiness is male-related included capturinging and tending them”
“But that is not how you need to be strong” Sakda raised his voice.
Majjari sighed “We were fighter too, we fight males, that’s why we needed to be strong”
His ear dropped, his face slowly swayed away from her. His hunch change dramatically, this land was very strange for him, one day they need males for procreation, and another they may be their adversaries “Will you fight me Majjari?” he asked. At the moment, he felt warm hands touched his head and turned it to face hers “Hey, lion I promised I’ll never hurt you, don’t you remember?” Then she kissed him and rub face with him “My brother, I also allowed no one to hurt you”
The kiss and rub were very comforting combinded with triedness, he almost fell asleep but Majjari nuded him “Shall we continue, we’re not there yet” Sakda rose to his feet from his slumber stage and carried on with her “Not so fast this time” he said. Both of them went up the hill for a while until they reached a clearing summit. It was nearly dusk, Majjari coaxed sakda to see what’s down below: Majjarapura in her most glorius light, despite centuries of desertion.
“Beautiful isn’t it” Majjari said holding his hand. This place was imperative to her, she was relaxed and focused, with a brother by her side she felt herself could be vulnerable, she said “Ishaa is like my mother, she raised me since I was young, but she always says she was not my mother. I couldn’t comprehend then how possible the lioness who raised me was not my mother” she chuckled and reached for the flower behind Sakda’s ear, fidgeting with it’s folded petal “She was very controlling, I grew up with the order of Moon Pristress, that’s my life and then I became a pristress myself. Being pristress was boring, there were too many rules to follow, I’m always jealous of those lionesses outside the cathedral who can do anything they wanted, not like me being confined to that order” She put the flower into his hand “take it and keep it well, the last flower of the day was the most beautiful.” she continued “When I’m bored I come up here, this is where I can be myself, to do anything I want”
She was like him, not raised by her real mother. Her words made him thought back when he was young, his mother was a she-wolf named Kaiya. Contrary to hers, his mother was loving caring and free spirited. just when he grew up he knew that he wasn’t like them, his siblings, he was a lion and they were wolves. Feeling excluded, no matter how hard she tried to make him fit the pack. Eventually he needed to leaved far away from home and eventually ended up what supposed to be, his actual birthplace.
Sakda was looking far away to the scenery, wandering his mind, but when he look to the side, he see an expecting eyes still stared at him, how long was she staring at him, but why?
Her pupil was wide, her voice was soft “I just wanted to be myself” She hugged him all of a sudden at his front, raised her heel high to level her face with him and kiss him mindlessly. Her hug was tight her hands lingered to his buttocks and caressing them, trying to untied his loincloth. This was surprisingly unexpected for Sakda, It was enough for him to block her with his arm “It’s too tight Majjari, what are you doing, stop it” He said, muffled, out of her kiss. Majjari backed off shyly “Sorry, this is what I wanted to do”
Is this what she wants to do? but we’re brother and sister! how could she had a feeling toward her brother, that’s weird! Sakda thought, but that kiss and hug really work something on him, he felt his body flushed, his heart beat faster, and his abdomen tightened.
“Well, we have some moment before it got dark” She said awkwardly.
Sakda howled, imitating a wolf but with deeper tone of a lion. In fact it was much like a longer roar with a bit higher pitch. That was terribly and he knew it “I am being myself too” he said laughing, sending both of them into wild laughter.
Sky turned yellow then orange then deeper redish, hot day light receded, replaced by warm wind of dusk. Majjari and Sakda stayed there having good time with each other unawared of the passing time until the sky was only lit by satrlights, but those were enough for the keen eyes of lions to navigate their way back to their place.
