I doubt anyone will care. . . but I'm postin' it cuz it's purty. A bit more of the conceptual artwork for 'Red Lantern'. Considering the goings-on of the comic, I thought a map would be good for readers to get a decent idea of the structure of the world. . . even if it is very close to our own.
The map will eventually have a bit more detail, just for flavor. But for now, here it is.

This is phenomenal work. I'm very impressed. I like the feel of it.
Do you do more detailed work? For example, do you have closeups of your continents that show terrain and cities?
Would you be interested in creating custom maps? I am both a writer and a Dungeon Master and am horrible at creating my own, but I'd love to get a few maps to work with. Any chance we could work something out?

I wonder, how exactly does this world map resemble our own's? xD That, however, in a positive manner. I'm loving the way it's looking, and I'm loving the names too c:

Now here's a very oblique, uncertain, speculative and probably totally unfair critique... the names. They're too nice. Uniformly sonorous, orotund, elegant and poised. Carvecia. Shaniwaar. They make me long for a note of the unexpected, a brusque monosyllable or a something with lots of 'k's in it. Or no vowels at all.
Maybe it's just that widely-varied names give a map a sense of range, of distance, of cultural and geographic diversity.
Am I ridiculous? Probably. Rap me on my snout if you wish. :)
