Day 8 complete! Surprisingly got the story in earlier than expected. Another short, sweet, and simple one. I've recently noticed I've been on a SFW streak with my stories. It's not bad, just surprising.
I also want to give a massive thank you to my now 114 watchers! Happy to see that so many people like my stories, and I hope you continue to enjoy them!
Summary: A mother-to-be revisits the place where an important memory was made...
Once again, Crystal found herself on this hill. Memories surged into her mind about that special someone she had met. She didn’t expect to see them again, but it didn’t deter her happiness for one thing: she’d be a mother soon.
Of course, saying soon was stretching it. The journey of life developing in her womb barely started two months ago, and it would be at least five before she could hold her child in her arms. Or children. She had no idea yet and felt like keeping the number a surprise. As such, the Labrador simply smiled while sitting next to the large, blossoming peach tree. While she did so, Crystal placed a paw against her slightly swollen stomach.
Currently, her belly was softly bloated out. It slightly resembled the size of someone who had a full meal. She would have assumed she was getting fatter if not for her morning sickness in the past month. A bit of it was still with her, but she felt well enough to go outside the house. While taking a light walk, the labrador ended up at the peach tree in her memories. And because of the tree, she remembered everything that happened that fateful night.
Many things could happen under the influence. The Labrador had been giddy after a few drinks, stumbling slightly at the reunion she went to. Before hurt hurting herself, a pair of hands steadied her gait. Looking up, she saw a handsome, muscular coyote with sparkling red eyes. He introduced himself as Luis after helping her to a seat. Because she was lightly drunk, Crystal told him about several things in her life. She talked and talked, feeling extremely relaxed around him. Something about his aura made her feel calm.
When the reunion slowly finished, he offered to drive her home. Of course, she was still inebriated and asked for a tour around the city. Another hour went by as she saw familiar sights. Under the influence, however, everything felt vibrant. She giggled throughout the journey like a schoolgirl. Finally, the car stopped on a hill with a giant peach tree looming. The height was enough to view the whole city. She pulled him into another talk session, feeling closer and closer to him. Once again, he offered to drive her home. She ended up pinning him to the tree.
Everything after that caused her face to burn. A deep red spread across her face due to what she did. After that, she knew she wouldn’t drink again. Not unless Luis was around to ensure she didn’t do anything stupid. At the same time, her paw began rubbing her softly swollen stomach. She couldn’t feel them kicking this stage of her pregnancy. Crystal would be excited when it happened, though. For now, she was content with simply feeling her baby bump.
Resting back against the tree trunk, the Labrador relaxed her body further. Barely anyone came here though it was called a ‘tourist’ attraction. Naturally, she didn’t have any problem with the silence. It gave her a chance to clear her mind. At the same time, she could enjoy the scenery to the fullest. Already, the blossoms were falling again. She saw a few flying with the wind across the city. One of the blossoms fell on her belly. Seeing it on her dress, Crystal smiled.
While simply enjoying the scenery was a good plan, the Labrador had something else in mind. A small bag held a new book she wanted to read. She picked it up with her free paw and turned the first page. The book seemed interesting, and she hadn’t looked at any reviews before buying it. Whether or not she made the wrong choice to pick it up would be revealed after a few hours. As such, the Labrador eagerly began reading.
She spent the next hour and a half in silence. Apart from her turning the page or the wind rustling through the leaves, nothing else made a sound. The Labrador was heavily invested in the story as well. She paid no attention to the other blossoms falling around her. Fortunately, the book was a good read. She didn’t find it boring in the slightest. Its world pulled her in from the first page. She got emotionally invested in every new character introduced.
After a while, Crystal placed the book in her bag. Letting out a slow breath, she felt herself getting sleepy. As the Labrador finally looked around, there were several peach blossoms. Another pair of peach blossoms fell on her slight baby bump when she looked up. It made her smile brighter before a yawn escaped her lips. With nothing else on her mind, she decided to rest for a little. Her eyes slowly closed after her decision.
Another hour went by while she slept. Unbeknownst to her, someone was walking up the hill. Their presence was silent with every step. On seeing her peacefully sleeping, the figure sat down next to her. They didn’t make any sound nor attempt to wake her. Another blossom fell against their body.
By the time Crystal woke, it was well into the evening. It wouldn’t be long before the sun had set. Her eyes fluttered softly as her body moved. Within a minute, she was fully awake. At this point, a pair of hands landed on her shoulders. At first, she was shocked and slightly frightened. Almost immediately after, she recognized the voice. Her blue eyes opened wide as she looked back.
Luis responded with a grin spread across his face. She felt her face burning softly in response. Naturally, she didn’t expect to see the coyote at this time. They had kept in touch but hadn’t confirmed their relationship at the same time. After all, that night was essentially a quick fling. She held the moment precious in her heart but didn’t count on a reunion. Somehow, it felt like he knew she’d be here. Such made her heart beat faster. Before she could say anything, though, he placed a paw against her slightly swollen stomach.
At that moment, time froze. The only thing that mattered was the Labrador and the coyote. His grin turned into a soft smile as his paw moved across her baby bump. She got more flustered with his touch but didn’t stop him. She didn’t want to stop him in the first place. A full minute went before he stopped and began asking about her day. It took her a few seconds to respond, but she eagerly continued the conversation.
Ever so often, he laughed at her clumsiness in her stories. His deep voice made her blush harder though she didn’t mind his teasing. While embarrassed, she was enjoying every moment of them together.
Sometime during their talk, Luis’ arm slipped around her body. Crystal only noticed it after she stopped speaking. Before she could fully process it, his lips connected to hers, making her shiver in his embrace. If there was any doubt of their relationship, he cleared it within ten seconds. From now on, they would be together. Coupled with her pregnancy, this would start a new journey.
And a new chapter in her life.
