I often find that the ads contained within old books and magazines can often tell much more about the time period they are from than the contents contained within the book or magazine.
This is another page of about a dozen or so from the back of my July 1892 Delineator. Sorry for the fuzzy quality, I didn't want to scan it for fear of damaging the book. The fact that my camera is like three or four years old doesn't help any either.
Not sure how well you can see the words, so here's a type-up of all the ads:

Many years ago, when I was a Librarian, I used to collect odd articles out of the extensive collection of local newspapers in the collection. I even out out a newsletter called Past Deadline.
What is funny, is that publishing that little ;zine led me into Furry Fandom.
Its a long story

LOL Hires' Root Beer, a delicious, strengthening effervescent beverage XD
Interesting, the only products I know for sure still exist are both beverages: Hire's Root Beer and Van Houten's Cocoa.

I think this is really really neat.
Even in all these years, little seems to have changed over time with the way small adds like these are placed in the back of magazines. Sure, the way wording is used today is different and the types of products sold this way is too. I especially like seeing the different buzzwords that were used when describing things during the time this was printed. Really, I see the same "styles" of adds which you can find in the back of a popular science magazine today. Albeit, this was a fashion magazine, which today is full of full page color adds filled with super models and catching images.
Very cool. :P
Awesome to have shared.

Love old newspapers with ads. It is like stepping into a time machine to not only see the products of the age, but more importantly the "relationship" that the advertisers of the products sought to have with their customers. Fascinating.
::FRANTIC POINTS AT THE VAN HOUTENS COCO AD::
This is so funny.. All the walls in my house are plastered with ads and papers like these from the turn of the century.. I even pulled that very ad off the wall when I widened the doorway to the living room.. I even found a Sunlight soap ad which was SO funny and sexist! I really wish I had held onto them. They're not visable.. They're behind all the sheetroc and 6 - 7 layers of wallpaper. Wish I had found something of value hidden in the walls besides 100+ year old ads
