Frederick Klaus Betelgeuse Reference (By: Squeaker~)
And another new character, this time Pathfinder. I recently got to join a Pathfinder 2e game and I've been enjoying it a lot. I played Pathfinder 1e in college and I always wanted to play a kitsune oracle but never got to. Frederick is the kitsune oracle I wanted to play.
Backstory:
In the setting there is a fog that blankets the land that takes away people's memories if they are in it too long. Frederick was a victim of this fog. He lost almost all his memories when he was 15. He was then taken to an orphanage to recover. He remembered his name, the fact that he could paint, and that he loved the sun. The sun was his muse. A couple years after recovering Frederick's art attracted the attention of a noble woman named Lady Rosenmarie who offered that Frederick worked under her patronage in her manor, which he did for the next 8 years. Frederick later learned that Lady Rosenmarie was a vampire and she loved Frederick's work because she felt the warmth of the sun in his pieces. Eventually Frederick gained a massive artist's block because of the climate of the city where he had been living; almost always overcast with snow. Frederick asked the Lady if he could leave to reacquire a connection to his muse and she agreed. Under the condition that he go to her hometown and paint the sun rising over it.
Frederick is half fire elemental, which is called a Naari in Pathfinder. His arms are wreathed in illusionary flame which become real when he cast spells. The tips of his ears and tail are producing real fire. He is also a flame oracle. Oracles in Pathfinder are sort of the divine equivalent of sorcerers. Oracles get their power from a divine curse. Frederick's flame curse causes him to see a world that is constantly on fire. But since this is all he has known he finds these flames to be beautiful. That collar was a gift from Lady Rosenmaire and the message on it, "IF LOST RETURN TO LADY ROSENMARIE", is purposely yellow text on a red background. Because of Frederick's curse the colors blend together and he can't read it. It is also enchanted so that anyone who attempts to explains what it says will not get through to Frederick.
