It has been almost nine months since Likani had been returned to her tribe after being spirited away by the mysterious outsider. Even now the tribe mystics and wise women spoke with her almost daily. Hoping that she would be able to recall new details about her time away from the otter tribe.
Truthfully Likani could only recount what she physically observed as none spoke her language. The man who had taken her was unlike anything their tribe had ever encountered- he was taller than any warrior in their tribe and twice as wide with large wings and curved horns. His body was covered entirely of hard scales with not a single strand of fur on his body- and Likani was very adamant about that. She had intimate knowledge of his body. And he lived in a castle in the sky far away from the jungle only accessible by giant metal birds.
The night before he returned Likani to her tribe through machinations known only to him, they slept together. It was Likani's first time and his size made things... difficult, but not impossible. After their union, the giant that lived in a castle in the sky returned Likani faithfully home and with a unknowing gift.
Having been trained as a tribe midwife and nurse, Likani noticed the signs early. The vomiting, swelling breasts and odd cravings. Soon it was Likani seeking the advice of her tribe doctors. All were baffled and some dismissive- but then the bump came and her pregnancy could not be denied. Now Likani became an object of study and curiosity. None from their tribe had ever mated with a foreigner and much less had any union produced offspring!
Some postulated, others worried about Likani delivering a child from such a giant but Likani herself found an odd peace. True the dangers of carrying the giant's child carried stark danger but something felt so warm and right about it. Likani already loved this baby and as her belly swelled with new life, she became all the more excited to meet and love it.
And maybe she might find the father one day and show him their child.
