I'm thankful my parents were never that uptight on the games I played. They were pretty much along the lines of 'As long as he can play it and not get nightmares or practice the stuff he watches rl, he can play the game to his hearts content.'

My folks are very laid back, they keep watch over my development at arms length. I can do as I please, and only really interfere in what I watch or do if it looks like it will be a serious problem down the line. They trusted I wouldnt do anything I wasnt ready to handle, and they were right. Hope to be half as good a parent as they were when I have kids.
