"...and the days that came after.
Everyone had gone. I could not go with them, so I remained in the ruins, fixing the system with what I could find. By then it had been reduced to little more than a power source for my survival-- the AI was gone. Even it had left me.
There was one thing, however, that still kept me company. It may have disappeared for a day every so often, but it always returned. Among the ashes of the houses and facilities, I could look up and know that, at least for a few hours, something could be there with me, even despite my failure. I do not know how, exactly, but I somehow felt that it would not stay this way forever.
Something about it felt familiar...the shapes, the color, the silence.
It reminded me of you."

Excellent. The way you use starscapes in your work never fails to impress. I love the orange and blue shooting stars, which, I guess, is a hint of what's to come given the last two pieces you made.
I wonder what he means by "even the AI had left me", perhaps that the situation was so hopeless that there was nothing to expend thought aside from survival on anymore? Don't get me wrong, I think it could make sense, I'm just curious to know what you feel that would mean from, well, an AI's perspective. :)
Beautiful picture as always. A very tragic scene, I'd just want to give him the biggest hug and make sure he didn't feel alone anymore.

There is a computer system they are part of and can't go without at this point in time. The computer system was heavily damaged in a large fire (as with the rest of the town), so the programming, etc, was destroyed. The only functioning parts of the system was that used for power supply, so it's sort of like the difference between charging your phone via usb through a computer/laptop or using an AC adapter in the wall. Advances in the technology allows them to be much more independent as time goes on, but because he did not get upgraded for a couple hundred years, he was quite hindered and required constant use of the remaining power/computer system to stay alive. When he refers to the system, he's speaking about the computer, not himself.
I hope that clears something up.

Is he trying to say 'oil can' or?
No, it sounds more like 'repair ma-' What's that? Oh, repair Woman!
Well, that's a sensible thing to want after all this desolate isolation amidst the destruction, isn't it!
Great piece!
