finding answers to self directed questions
a year ago
in therapy i am trying to answer the questions of "how do i have worth", "how am i good enough/adequate", and "how am i successful"
last therapy session, to the delight of my therapist, i was able to reason out an answer to the first question. here is the answer i came up with:
things have worth because they have attributes and qualities that you and others find valuable. i value my intelligence and creativity, two traits that are very valuable to others (usually), and because it is of value to myself and to society, i have worth.
still working out all the bugs in this, but it only took about 30 seconds to come up with this. by practicing and refining it, i can better answer that question.
the last two questions will be very hard, as they trigger a lot of memories of failures and perceived failures, which bottlenecks the reasoning process.
