On Superman's redesigned spandex
Superman no longer wears red underpants. Good fucking riddance.
On that note, I'm kind of amazed how I'm against iconism in contexts like Superman's.
Superman's costume is instantly recognizable, and fans go so far so as to put up torches and pitchforks over the slightest change. Or radical changes, like the energy costume Superman Red and Blue wore. I actually thought that looked refreshing. Not the best, but it's better than the dorky red briefs. But sometimes I think the fact that Superman's costume "needs" to have the red briefs for it to look like Superman makes me wonder if they're trying to invoke the excuse of "iconism", that any kind of modification would be a loss of essence that makes Superman what he is.
So that made me conclude, "That makes Superman either a victim or instigator of iconism within his own context, and that this breed of iconism breeds stagnation."
Classy. :|
"Don't fix what ain't broke", huh? Superman's spandex had something going, and the red briefs broke shit left and right. Goddamn distracting.

Actually I'd be kinda curious to see how that'd sell, these days!
