Post AC Report: The Journey Back and Everything After
10 years ago
We didn't stick around Pittsburgh much on Monday. We woke up early enough, finished packing, and all got ready to go. Kehei had a flight he needed to get to, so we were out of the hotel pretty quickly. It was sad that it was over, but it was still four great days of awesome. As we headed to the airport, the song "Can't Hold Us" was playing on the sound system. That song sort became the official unofficial song of our little group over the course of the con, so it was fun listening to it as we drove away.
We dropped Kehei off at the airport, where we said our goodbyes, and then Slas, Drek, and I continued on the long road down to Florida. It was a rather uneventful trip down south, and Slas's truck made the journey comfortable. We had an early enough start on the trip, so we figured we might as well make the whole drive in one shot. I was happy with that, as I had a Physics exam the very next morning, and it began to look like I might actually not miss the exam. Major thanks go out to Slas and Drek for putting up with my rather...poorly planned travel arrangements. You guys are awesome.
So, yeah, we had our uneventful trip down to Florida, and we made it to Jacksonville sometime after midnight. We said our goodbyes there, as that's where I began my journey to the other side of Florida and they continued south. I drove out west into the panhandle, took a rest and a nap in Tallahassee, and continued on my way. By the time I got home, the sun was already up, and I literally got home at the the time I normally would begin getting ready for school. I gotta say, that nap I took in Tally was worth it, because I was able to get to class and take my exam, and, not to brag or anything, but I totally rocked that exam. So, in the end, everything worked out great.
I suppose I spent the rest of the day just contemplating the trip in my mind. You really do need some time to digest something like that so that you could mentally get back into normality.
I remember when I was first offered to go on the trip, and I had originally said no. Some excuse like, "I'm taking classes over the summer" or something like that. But that didn't sit well with me. It was because I knew I would regret passing the opportunity, and trust me, you don't want to live with regrets. I can say now that I'm so glad I went. I met awesome people and friends that I had only known online up to that point. I had great time and made some awesome memories.
If anything, and I'm sure my friends can agree, it has definitely thrown me deeper into the furry fandom. In one way, before AC, I didn't have much interest being a fursuiter. Now I want a suit. I really want to get a suit, because now I just think that would be awesome. And I'm gonna write a journal about that in a bit. And in another way, I think AC has helped me finally fully accept that I;m a furry. I mean, I started accepting it earlier this year. Perhaps saying I'm more comfortable with it is a better way to put it. Because I am more comfortable with it now. I wouldn't be seriously considering a suit if I weren't.
So, here I am now, feeling awesome about being a part of this fandom, despite knowing there are still reasons why we can't have nice things. But I think any sort of fandom has those aspects to varying degrees, but that's beyond the point. The point it, I look forward to the next con I can go to. I know that I will be saving money for a suit, and I still have school I need to attend, so con going will be limited. I'll definitely do my best to go to Anthrocon again next year. However, I'd like to go to Furry Weekend Atlanta next year as well, if I can afford it. And maybe Megaplex. We'll see.
But as for now, AC has been over for nearly a month now. However, I'm finally done with telling my story about it. It was awesome. It was amazing. It was fun. And there's not much more to say about it. I suppose that concludes my Post AC Report, finally. Now I can post other journals!
And with that, I say, the end.

I love the fact that you end the journal looking forward to the next one. silly Cheetah
Yush. I is a cheetah. And of course I ended it by looking forward! It gets me excited for the future!
