Hard drive crashed
So yeah, along the stresses of school and driving, after i got home today my PC refuses to boot, and by the sound i'm pretty sure my hard drive crashed
If i'm being completely honest i have a lot of trouble keeping my cool, art and animating was the only thing that kept my sanity in tact after really stressful school days, but now i'm gonna be without a pc until i can manage to get a new hard drive, and i'm gonna have to find a way to do art nonetheless for the people i owe
I keep all my art and such on a secondary hard drive but i'm not sure if i can still recover those, i make daily backups of my short film on a smaller external hard drive though so those are still safe thank god
But yeah this sucks, this really really sucks...

But that really blows x..x
I do want to raise some money but i do wanna give back to people for it as well, my short film still needs background characters so maybe people would be interested in pitching in for that
As for your current predicament...Honestly, yeah, it bites. Though a hard-drive should be easily fixable, if not replaceable. I'm sure that even though it might not boot, you should still be able to recover the files stored on it if you really need to.
Just hang in there man, this is a sucky setback, but I know it's nothing you can't handle.
And yeah it would've been a lot easier to deal with if i didn't have school deadlines and driving and such on my mind, i guess i just have to adapt to adult life?
Do you have enough for a replacement hard drive, for what you need, and do you have a copy of Windows 7 to install? If not on the latter point, that's unfortunately something on you. If not the former, there's something that you can do to get you back up as quickly as possible. Paypal Credit. Sounds like an irresponsible leap, I know, but it can work, and I say that because of their draw. Anything over $99, paid in full before 6 months, doesn't have interest. The catch is that the interest accrued over those 6 months is tacked on IF you fail to pay in full, and continues to build until the balance is paid in full. Smart budgeting can ensure you get what you need and pay it in a more comfortable manner. If you don't feel comfortable with it, though, I don't blame you in the slightest.
Last thing, be sure you keep your old hard drive. Don't run it at all. Rather, hold onto it and keep it in a safe, dry, isolated place, one where it's least likely to receive some sort of static charge. When you get your replacement hard drive, make sure you grab yourself a USB hard drive transfer cable of some sort. The drive's shot, but you might be able to recover files from it. By the sounds of it, there are bad memory sectors on your drive, most likely one over the OS's booting prompt. It won't ever boot, but it can still be read.
This is all advice coming from someone who's experienced such a thing. It's the scariest thing to go through, and it's a massive relief when everything's in working order. Best of luck to you, however you choose to approach the situation.
There's some knoweldge from my company's IT Guy in terms of backups and HDD crashes.
