Stressed And Sad
So, I have had my first car for 15 years now. I got her in 2003 and haven't wanted to get rid of her in all that time. She runs fine, has a few kinks but she works really well for how old she is.
Today on my way to work, about 20 feet from my house, an 82-year old man hit me at a 4-way stop on my passengers side rear tire. He claims I didn't stop at it, but a nice man who saw the whole thing gave me his name and number and said that I stopped and he didn't and he would testify saying that to the police.
All-in-all I'm fine, but her back tire and bumper are just... bent wrong.
She's probably totaled, and I've been sick about it. Azzy and my family and family-in-law are all helping me get a new car but she was my first car. Ever.
*heavy sighs*
She's getting towed tomorrow.

Depending on what kind of car it is, you can probably find a repair shop to fix those problems. That doesn't sound too bad. The rear bumper is designed to be replaced, and the axle and suspension parts hooking up to the wheel are probably toast. That stuff is replaceable as well. The big question is if it is worth replacing that stuff. I would shop around for some repair shops and speak with your insurance on this. Even if it's just a cheap pos, they might be willing to spend money to fix it rather than total it out. It might be worth buying back from them and having it fixed up. Ultimately, it's your decision in the end, but not all hope is lost yet.
