I find it interesting that many sharks have a nictitating skin that closes over the eye when they bite to protect the eyes from injury. Can be nicely used on furry sharks to show aggression with black eyes!

The Carcharodon carcharias A.K.A Great White Shark belong to the class of chondrichthyes which have cartilage instead of bones, they have large triangular shaped teeth. They are serrated so that they can bite their prey. The bottom teeth are narrower. They have 300 teeth in up to 7 rows which they lose regularly but continue to be replaced.

As a bonus they have a sixth sense beside the five we humans also possess: electromagnetism; through their snout that detects minute electrical currents produced by prey using electrosensitive organs called ampullae of Lorenzini. All living organisms generate electric fields including us humans but only a few like the carcha can sense it, it is also believed that their electromagnetic receptor is used for communicating but it has not been proven.. yet. Great white sharks are actually one of the more mysterious species of sharks, scientists still do not know where they go to give birth or breed or their breeding habit in general. they're also one of the only sharks to be observed in aerial predation in which they fully breach out of the water when attacking seals from below, this behavior is most famously observed in South African Great White sharks.

I actually have a holiday home at Kleinbaai, where the sharks breach the water. And yes, I am from South Africa. That's why my fursona is a Great White Shark. A very goofy and cuddly one too!

I love the idea that shark have really sensitive snout (one of the weakpoint advised to target when you want to drive away a shark) mostly because it reinforce the idea of shark being Sea-Puppy that just want to boop you ! :D Even better when it's a cute/sexy shark-girl.

Sharks get 'rings' on their vertebra in the same way tree trunks do, which means a shark's age can be determined by it's number of ring pairs on it's vertebra. 2 rings = 1 year old.

The amount of rows of shark teeth is probably what I find most interesting about them. It's like a conveyor belt of pain, just replace one after the other if it gets lost. Not to mention they're structured differently, without roots and etc.

It's believed that the bull shark is responsible for most attacks on humans. The great white is often falsely accused, mostly because they can look similar and leave similar bite marks, but they sadly got a really bad reputation through the film Jaws!

Nurse sharks, while they look perpetually stoned and kind of like some big fuck off catfish are actually extremely aggressive if approached from behind, and are known to have enough jaw strength to disintegrate bone.
