⚠️ Attention all Approved Artists ⚠️
⚠️
In light of recent events concerning 3 of our Trusted Artists it has become necessary to make this announcement.
Mocking another artist, even another Trusted Artist for ANY reason is distasteful, cruel and down right despicable.
We here at TA do not approve or condone such behavior and we hoped our artists would know better. Remember what our badge means. Do you think an artist who makes a mockery out of another is trustworthy?
Be mature, be respectful and treat others with the dignity they deserve.
Regards,
TA Team

I wouldn't trust that person with my money either if they can't be a decent person.

I don't think being abusive towards other artists should be considered for removing someone from trusted artists, FA already has some policies anti harrassment that can be used to deal with each other in that regard, and TA should only consider if the transactions between artists and clients in that if you paid said artist you'll get what you paid for without major problems.
I suggest that getting banned by FA takes you automatically from FA instead, and you can return only one time after that if the ban isn't permanent.
If it's just "hey don't be a douche to each other" I'm down for that ovo
If anyone ever has another problem with an artist depending on the situation they need to come to us or go to fa staff about it instead of berating and mocking others ❤️

Let people opine on each other and criticize each other. It comes without saying that you don't support or condone each artist's personal opinions and you only support their professionalism in their transaction with their client.
You guys should remove this journal, don't take political sides like this, it's stupid and will damage the group's reputation. Don't give warnings on what you expect the artists opinions to be, specially their opinions in their own personal corners of the internet. Don't use this group to try to manage a discussion that has nothing to do with what this group is about.
As I said in a previous comment, if the "memes" and opinions turn into harrassment, FA itself can step in and ban the abusive parties... without having to make this group take a political stance on the topic.
Keep it professional too, let people do their thing, you do yours, and feel free to share your personal opinion in your personal page, not the group's.
That's my suggestion.
As artists involved wear our badge on their profile, we want to voice that we don't condone such behaviour. We are also voicing our opinion on such behaviour at the same time.
A lot of people are labeling these memes as an opinion, when they are not. An opinion for example, is something like "I don't agree with your prices but ok". Whereas posting a meme to make fun of such artist is like "herr der, look I can do it too".
There really is a big difference.
There is no political stance, as I am sure you are aware that most people around the globe dislike mocking.
We are in no way making this a rule to be on TA.

A joke that carries criticism is still an opinion, and if you are using the group to take the PC/SJW approach, you are efectively politicizing the group, you're giving it a leaning. And you'll force everyone who disagrees with your personal views to disengage. That's why I suggest you to keep your personal opinions personal and let this group be neutral, keep it about how well artists deal with their clients in paid transactions.
Don't ruin it. Let FA deal with harrassment cases if it escalates to that, but until then it's just humour and personal opinions.
Some commissioners will be put off by this, and i do say some because there will also be commissioners who think it funny. But we as a group that stands for trusted artists need to make a front against mockery, and yes i also think this is mockery. And although i believe everyone is entitled to their own views...i also believe we have to make sure it is clear we don't like it when another artist is getting mocked for something they think is just.
Now you start representing a set of values, you become political.
You chose to represent censorship on humour when it pokes at an artist you like. It was nothing near harrassment.
I'm against censorship, we need humour, even if it's at expense of myself or someone I know, when it turns into harrassment it's another case... which it's not this case, here we just had a meme, a joke, based on truth about high prices, and it's funny even if I'm happy for the artist that made it to that point were can charge that much. I don't trade the right of people to speak their opinion and make jokes and make fun of each other.
Good luck with the group, it was pretty good when it was not taking sides on personal opinions outside of paid transactions.
If you desire to extend the meaning of the TA badge towards published content and if you feel that mockery and satire are content that is not acceptable for an artist carrying the TA badge, then go for it. After all, TA is your show.
However I would like to ask you to add this bit of information to the TA profile page. If TA is no longer purely about the business practices of an artist but also means that an artist is no longer able to express their opinion freely and openly joke on all topic, then I, as a paying customer of artists, would like to know this.
It surely influences the way I see and trust TA.
It is not a rule on TA.
As myself as Administrator (mods also feel the same way and our journal was a joint decision) we simply expressed our views on it. After all, we are representing their art trade/business ... and we wanted the public to know we don't support the mocking of fellow artists.
We are not removing artists for doing such things, but we are expressing our disappointment.
Of course artists can express themselves. That is what art is all about.
What I am referring to here is not really self expression, but rather spiteful backlash.

I've seen a few artists jump on this current "trend" and it's honestly left me disappointed, especially knowing that they are fellow trusted artists. It's disappointing and deplorable seeing how many people seem to be ok with it honestly, it really is. Artists should be better than this - no matter how big or famous or whatever an artist is, no one deserves to have their art copied, to be mocked, or be subjected to these bully tactics.
Criticism is absolutely fine, but what's been happening isn't that. People are arguing its just memes and its in good fun - no, when "fun" is at the expense of somebody else in such a way like with the mockery and intent of this, it's spiteful andnot ok.
It reminds me of schoolyard bullying tbh. Piling on to one person isn't simply "causing offense" or "meming lol", it's disgusting (I can appreciate dark humour, but this isn't it). Anybody who thinks that being against the public mockery of a fellow artist is a sign that TA is turning SJW or becoming political... what? Being a decent human being and saying you're against blatant bullying isn't the same as wanting to make everything PC or seeing offense around every corner.
Anyway I've said my thoughts enough I guess haha, but thank you for standing up with a statement that truly supports the community at large <3
Thank you!! Someone who gets it! Love your words!
Much respect to you my dear.
