I've made an extension for FurAffinity!
Tired of opening a million tabs to upload stuff on FurAffinity?
Going through 3 different pages just to get your stuff published?
Having your pictures' quality destroyed by FA's compression algorithm?
Yeah, me too. That's why I've made this browser extension. What it does is basically notify you whenever you get new content on FA, filter out artists with content you don't like, and replace the default FurAffinity uploader with a shiny, new one that comes with a lot of good features to make our lives easier.
Here's a demo video of the extension in action, it's a little old and not everything had been implemented back then, but I guess it perfectly showcases what it's capable of doing:
Give it a try, it's just one click and poof, it's in your browser and it'll make a hell of a difference.
For Mozilla Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi.....ddon/fabui-fa/
Notifications:
- Notifies you when you receive new submissions, journals, favorites, watchers, comments and notes on FA.
- You can choose which notifications you'll receive: Submissions, Journals, Favorites, Watchers, Comments and Notes.
- Automatically removes notifications from your control panel that you've already seen (optional).
- Sound and popup notifications are also available (optional).
Uploader:
- You can drag and drop, then upload a lot of files automatically and in order.
- You can upload comic pages and the extension will automatically add [PREVIOUS, FIRST, NEXT] links for you.
- You can save the submission title, description, keywords, etc. and recycle them to use later in another submission.
- You can format your text with bold, italics, underline and other styles in real-time rather than having to use buttons.
- You can upload images in their original quality rather than FA's compression mechanism.
- You can search and create folders on the spot.
Filtering:
- You can click on a submission in any browsing/search pages on FA and hide that artist's submissions from showing up again.
- You can add custom words in a blacklist so that submissions with titles that contain that word don't show up.
Regardless if I actually get any tips or none, I will continue to work and improve the extension for as long as I can.
After all, I made it to use it myself in the first place. 😺

Tips?
If you installed the extension and enjoy the work I do to make FurAffinity a better and easier place to use, and if you wish to support me in some way, I have a ko.fi page that was open at the suggestion of a fellow user: https://ko-fi.com/kenjifabuiRegardless if I actually get any tips or none, I will continue to work and improve the extension for as long as I can.
After all, I made it to use it myself in the first place. 😺
I'll include it tomorrow when I wake up.
Just make sure to leave this checkbox marked: https://i.imgur.com/TOLOWnI.png
Not sure if this is hidden somewhere, but the original ability to put into Scraps?
Like it shows here: https://youtu.be/S42LwMppiAg?t=25
you are amazing thank you so much
Bless, and happy new years!
great job!
And yeah I do also get the 505 error sometimes from FA
I'll try to improve the coding somewhat to avoid this.
For now, you can just disable notifications in the extension's toolbar button.
But if you want to uninstall it, that's understandable too.
You can enable notifications/install the extension again if you'd like, and sorry for the inconvenience.

There was another complaint about this before, but you can just disable the notifications setting in the toolbar icon rather than uninstalling it. But I respect your choice.
I uninstalled it for now, but mostly to keep FA from suspending me again or whatever. Besides that malarkey, I absolutely loved the extension!
Try to log in again, then go to the Settings tab on the toolbar icon and disable/re-enable notifications.
the only other extensions I have are uBlock Origin (disabled for FA) and some some twitch ones. I tried disabling them all and only re-enabling FABUI but it also didn't work.
And I don't use a VPN, since I don't need one.
Do you have a Discord? Maybe you can help me debug the problem.
Thanks a lot, I love so much its features
I'll let you know when things are back online.
Anyway, the extension is back at the Chrome Web Store and you can download it through the link in this journal.
Love how you easily see all your notifications from anywhere and customize them, and the blacklist feature is awesome, too. Well worth a Ko-fi. 🐱
also, I haven't tried it yet, and I don't even know if this is a common problem for everyone or if it's a weird thing for me? but a good feature would be; every time I upload a updated version of a file, say I edited a drawing and resaved it, I have to change the name, because if I use the exact same name it will for some reason upload the old file?? I guess they have a back log or something? I'm not tech savy lol but it makes no sense to me and sometimes I end up having 3 different saves of the same PNG because I have to keep changing the name
thank you for this extension though! its great none the less!
I'll try to get it fixed soon.
Make sure to update the extension and it should work again.
Pictures will only get blacklisted if the words are in their titles.
Good to know!
I'd ask if this this project is open for any feature pull requests, but I'm guessing it's probably a closed source?
One thing I really love it for is how it's grouping the submissions by user, and I've been basically pinning the popup extension page as a browser tab and using it as the notification panel instead of FA's own. :D Just because the grouping and "delete on view" are so handy.
Been having a little trouble with ghosted notifications, though. Once a submission is fetched, it'll just stick around. Guessing that's probably in large part to avoid too many requests?
The reason why notifications stick around is because a user once made me a feature request so the extension could fetch their 999+ submission notification gallery, so I made the extension save the submissions in order for me not to fetch all these pages at once. In hindsight, I should have made that an option instead of forcing it to everyone, so I do plan on rectifying that in the future. It'll take a while though, I'm super busy right now.
But two things that would be super duper fun to have with it, if you get the time:
- Either an option for a bigger popout window, or tapping the notifier icon opens the popout as a new browser tab. Mostly just for want to see more notifications at the same time.
- Some kinda way to, when viewing by artist, select and remove everything by that artist all at once.
Donated to you on Kofi too, really like this thing!
The extension doesn't use an API, because FA doesn't provide one.
It simply opens the submissions/journals/favorites/watchers/etc page as its shown in the browser and takes the data from there.
Any time I click on the extension icon, the window opens but just constantly flickers, to the point where you can't actually see or click on anything within the extension. I've tried in a private browsing window as well and that hasn't helped either. I'm getting notifications through it no problem though, I'm just not able to open the extension window.
I'm running the latest version of Firefox, but this also happened last time I tried it probably around 6 months ago as well. Just wondering if you've saw that happen before? Thanks!
I also use Firefox with both Windows and Linux, which Firefox/OS version are you using?
I'm on Firefox 101.0.1 and Windows 11
I'll try to debug it there, thanks for reporting!
