Filler Post!

Networking on FA!
Posted 7 years agoI have yet another question for the people here! Does anyone here work at Northrop Grumman or know some one who does? I'm looking to get a referral in.
I need an electrical engineer!
Posted 7 years agoDoes anyone on this site have experience with designing power supplies or power circuits? Me and my brother have been building a tesla coil together and we've been having trouble finding the right kind of power supply or transformer to get this sucker to work. I think we need the help of some one smarter than we are >w<
BLFC Con Report!
Posted 8 years agoI've noticed something about my convention memories recently: they are starting to all blur together or even be forgotten all together. I guess that is to be expected as I have been going to conventions for almost seven years now. However, in order to improve my con memory retention I have decided to do what I've seen a few others do and commit my experiences to paper! Er...I mean, server hard drive.
The con trip did start off rather stressful. I missed my flight to the con for the first time! Not because of late packing or bad traffic, but because I wandered around a bit to long and came to board the plane about a minute after it had already left. My attempts to kill time killed my flight >w< In order to kill time I took the airport shuttle to Temple Square and ended up hanging out with several tourist couples in downtown Salt Lake. Thankfully this allowed me to kill the six hours I had to wait for the next flight to Reno which was at 10:15pm. I almost offered to take the old couple I rode in the shuttle with around Temple Square myself as I know the area well and they were really sweet, but they managed to find their own way around.
So that was my first adventure on getting to the con. The second adventure was getting my luggage back. While my suitcase was taking a trip to Reno without me it decided it wanted to be picked up by the transfer service of a Tahoe resort. I openly thank the resort bellhop for being willing to bring it to the GSR for me. I would have been totally lost without it! One good thing did come out of having to wait in the lobby for my suitcase to be delivered: I got to meet a new husky fursuiter called Nacho! Though once I did get my suitcase back life through me one last adventure by allowing me to loose my room card. I had to go bang on the room door to wake up Aridwolf to let me back in. I decided to just stay in the room until morning >w<
Needless to say I woke up the next morning feeling stressed and sleep deprived. I kept a tight grip on my room key and went to get my con badge. Thankfully there were no hiccups with that! Afterwards I spent the day napping until I was able to move from my first room with Aridwolf to the room where I'd be spending the rest of the convention with. Arid was kind enough to allow me to spend the night with him until Carizzo fox arrived on Thursday. I was able to have a good dinner with him and his friends that evening which was a great way to start the convention proper. Nothing like a full stomach of overpriced casino food!
Speaking of food I am surprised at how limited the hours are of all the restaurants other than the Grand Cafe. I did often wonder why they only kept one venue open for longer than a single evening beyond 10:00pm. Anyone else wonder about that? The prices I can understand. They are trying to bilk me for every buck they can justify. I have to pad my charge account before going to BLFC as I know that all the food there costs three or four dollars more than what it would at home for fare of the same or a similar type. Or in the case of the buffet a whole 20 dollars more than a Golden Corral!
But I did not come here to complain about food. Though I would love to hear your thoughts about getting grub in the GSR!
This BLFC I decided to spend more time trying to meet up with with people I wanted to rather than focus on panel attendance. In this endeavor I admit I experienced mixed results >w< I already was stretching my goal by having up to five people I wanted to meet and spend significant time with. This was not helped by the fact that I kept running into people I had not thought of prior to the convention but also wanted to spend time with as well, not to mention the new people I had already met. I’m still surprised I met almost everyone at least once! The spending of quality time with them a less successful venture. Everyone was going somewhere or doing something it seemed. Particularly in the field of parties. My good friend Drake Roo didn’t manage to make time for me until Sunday night! I spent most of Friday morning trying to get through to him on Telegram but his extensive party preparations and hosting kept him busy. Boy does that roo like to party! He kept his celebrations going on for two days straight, Friday and Saturday.
Despite the problems I was encountering in fulfilling my goals Friday was still a great day! The highlight of the day for me was Rinn the sergal’s dance panel, which happened to include most of the preliminaries for the dance competition as they had run waaaaaay over schedule. Even though the last performers ate up a good 45 minutes of the original panel time I got a lot of good examples to try and imitate! And Rinn is such a good dance teacher ^w^ That and he is so freaking cute and I nurse a severe crush on him, both in and out of suit. *blushyroo* I sure this fact is going to reach his somehow now that I have confessed.
The Fursuit Festival ate up the rest of the evening in one great big chunk. I have never seen so many fursuiters at once and apparently so had nobody else outside of AC. I got to snuggle up with Dezick the wolf, a suit built by North Shepherd, and later snuggle up with North Shepherd after I realized that he wasn’t in the Dezick suit this year. That’s how I met Bean, Dezick’s new owner. I also got to meet Orzel again, who I met last BLFC! I got to spend just a bit more time with him this time but he, much like Drake, was also consuming his time with parties. Most of time with him was spent on the dance floor on Friday night as I practiced the new moves I learned from Rinn and he raved out to all the deep, thumping rhythms. I ate dinner with local Utah furs Kilk, SK Skunk and Lazer the tiger. All in all a very lovely day!
I feel compelled to mention now that a whole lot of time, both on Friday and every day after that was spent on my phone trying to keep myself connected to the hotel WiFi and wondering if my messages would ever get sent! That entire hotel is a dead zone! I often picked up a password locked network called GSR Convention and wondered if it was any better than the crappy signal of the regular network. I wonder if we'll ever get access to it? Our size certainly merits it by now. Though with our luck it’s just as bad as the standard one. For all it’s good points I don’t have much faith in the GSR WiFi.
Saturday felt a bit more subdued. That always seems to be the case at cons as my energy is slowly drained away >w< I first headed to the panels I decided I definitely wanted to be at like Carizzo’s voice acting workshop and the Fur What It’s Worth podcast which are always fun and I like to support. I didn’t get recorded at the voice panel but I still loved seeing all the good acting talent that there is in this fandom. I finally managed to get a hold of Drake Roo! Though Orzel was still cruising the party scene. In fact a party was what I ended up in when I got to his room. The last part of one anyway. I hadn’t been invited to Drake’s parties but I didn’t ask to be anyway >w< Parties with drunk furries are not my thing and I usually end up standing around awkwardly, wondering what really is going on around me. I did meet another independent and isolated fur like me named Mahi! I hope to chat more with him in the future. Eventually I did get to have more quality time with Mahi, Drake and his friend Jwolfsky at the Italian restaurant. The only downside to hanging with them was that I totally missed the dance competition! I hear there was an all sergal dance ensemble at the end. Oh well, it will be posted ten times over on YouTube so I can see it there ^w^.
I want to send a big shout out to Talon Windstryke, Blue Hasia and GRN Dragon though for making Saturday night very special for me. They allowed this roo to bowl with them in their big dragon bowling game even though I wasn’t a dragon (they were so kind not to eat me XD). Though after hanging around them for a few minutes I was rawring and growling back in their native tongue so I might have been temporarily part dragon. I learned all about GRNs fursuit making experiments as well as his big outdoor road trips and I also learned not to call Blue Hasia cute. I had to apologize for slipping up a few times as he is suit is very...winsome ^///^ And I got so many loving snuggles, scritches and purrs from all these adorable dragons. It totally made my night.
Sunday I hung out at Carizzo’s other panel that was all about motion capture. He had bought these motion sensor harnesses that looked a lot like the fashion harnesses many furs wear. They kept track of the position of your joints and body while your movements were matched to a 3d model he had made previously. Going with the theme of the con you were made really big and could smash up a city mockup that was projected onto the big screen in front of the audience. The results were very comedic as we spent a lot of the panel trying to figure out why all the figures that were used all were hunchbacked and had the palsy once someone was hooked up to the system. But the best part of the whole thing was when a big dragon suiter named Tyrnn put the harness on under his suit and then rampaged through the fake city. He really got into the part, rawring and breathing pretend fire onto the hapless citizens below. I really hope someone filmed that performance! I too got a chance to don the motion capture rig and prance around in the city! My digital kangaroo self was...lumpy to say the least.
I have to say the last event of my con experience was the best ever. I finally got a hold of Roofur, my fursuit building friend. We hit it off really well at the previous BLFC and I really wanted to hang out with him again. Thankfully he’s not a party fur! And he was generous enough to allow me to try on his personal fursuit Roogon. I had noticed that he and I had similar body sizes to I went out on a limb and asked. Holy crap, I could sit and hug myself all day long on Roogon! He is very muscle padded and so is extra squishy in the body. I was surprised how well I did my first time in a fursuit! I dealt with the heat very well and even when it did get very hot it was still extremely comfortable! I’m sure if allowed I would have fallen asleep while wearing him. Sadly I only hung out with Roofur in his room while in suit because my glasses don’t fit in the head and I am blind without them. I wish I could say I loved how I looked in the mirror but all I could see was a purple bur >w< We spent about two hours cuddling with each other ^////^ It was so much fun!
And in the morning I got up and went home, tired but very fulfilled. I don’t know how people get post con depression; I am always grateful to be back in my own bead in my own home after a big trip. Next convention I am going to focus on trying to hang out around fewer people. Better yet if I can finally form my own “cohort” to be around that would be lovely. I’d finally not roam the hallways by myself so much. But next time I definitely want a suit. I’ve grown in the fandom enough that it is time. I’ve had my first dose and I’m hooked. So hopefully at the next BLFC there will be a big red kangaroo for people to give lots of snugs to!

Cons are for Cuddles
Posted 8 years agoBLFC is now just two weeks away and I was wondering who else loves cuddles? That has to be my favorite part of furry cons ^w^ I could put up some weird convention meme post but the only really important question on those things is if you can hug me or not. The answer is yes please!
I have been hired!
Posted 8 years agoI just realized that I haven't let people know the good news here! My old job hired me back! I am now working again. But if anyone has any leads on anything that fits more with my educations I'd still love to hear about it. I don't want to be a data scraper forever!

So, if anyone has connections to jobs that a physicist could do well in I'd love to know ^^ I would really love to break into aerospace engineering if I could. Anything to do with space exploration really since that is my true passion.
Questions About Fursuit Articulated Jaws and Footpaws
Posted 9 years agoWow, big title! I'm sending out another journal to see what people think about movable jaws in fursuits. I'd really like to get one in mine but sadly my current preferred builder
fursuiting doesn't make them. Does anyone have any thoughts on who makes the best moving jaws?
I'm also curious about people's thoughts on footpaw construction. I'm unfamiliar with how they are usually made and would like to know what other people's preferences are. I'm curious if anyone constructs them like a big slipper if that is even possible.

BLFC Is For Cuddles
Posted 9 years agoI guess I could make an ordinary BLFC meme journal but I'd much rather focus on the most important question:can you touch me? Yes. Yeas please. Cons are for cuddles in my humble opinion. I looooove getting and giving attention. So if we meet in the halls don't worry about decorum, just snug me up!
Who want's to be in a furry sitcom?
Posted 9 years agoI really want to rewrite the piece of mine called The Den: Episode 1. It's waaaay to long and needs to have fewer characters than I tried to stuff in it. But the people who were originally involved are no longer interested. So before I start creating my own new characters I wanted to see if anyone would want to be in a new story. Let me know if you are interested.
BLFC Paw/Foot Fans
Posted 9 years agoI am feeling curious and willing to stick my neck out XP. I am going to BLFC this year and was wondering if there any guys who liked feet that were going to be there as well. I'd love to meet up if you'd like to. All my contact info is in my FA page ^w^
Looking For Fursuit Maker to Make a Roo!
Posted 9 years agoI thought I'd send out a journal to see if I can get some people's opinions ^^ I'm getting close to reaching my savings goal to get a full suit and I've created a short list of makers who' style I like he most. So far the one's I am seriously looking at are:
fursuiting
ByCats4Cats
madefuryou
Sadly the one person who has made what is probably the best kangaroo costume ever,
AppleMonsterStudios is very much closed and will probably remain so for a while.
What I am wondering is if anyone thinks they know some one who could make a really good kangaroo in your opinion, or better yet some one who'd really like to make one. If anybody has any suggestions that would be great!

In order to keep my page from looking completely blank...
Posted 15 years agoI guess I ought to write something here, though I don't know how many of you are interested in my boring life.
