Ah, fuck. Another of these journals - and not only did I create this journal after New Year's, but I pressed the enter button early and posted it like a donkey before it was even ready to start. What an absolute mess, just like the rest of 2020.

There's not much to say about 2020 other than, damn, what the fuck was that? I, at least, had the incredible fortune of visiting TFF in Texas with some dear friends and then Minnesota too, just days before the lockdowns commenced in earnest. Everything else in Australia was relatively light compared to what some countries have gone through - presumably due to a combined lack of population density and relative isolation. I'm incredibly thankful for how lucky I've been so far, but it gets exhausting after a while..

To the people who played by the rules during lockdowns and did their best to keep people safe, while others threw themselves in front of a train and then were proud of themselves when it stopped in time - good on you. Yours is a sacrifice that is unspoken yet invaluable.

But wait, why does my clock still say 2020 if it's 2021...?
