~Schizophreniafurs
*****This group was made in a serious manner and I don't want to treat this disease as a game nor as props as some other groups do on this site. I don't want us to look "crazy" or "insane" because we're not. We suffer from a disease, and what we have is not a game at all. It needs to be taken with all seriousness and dealt with care. I hope people can meet others and make friends and share their troubles through this group.*****
You may join this group by watching and if you wish you can put the group on your profile. You can only join if you have been diagnosed as of:

Negative symptoms: Symptoms/behaviors taken away from a person:
~Inexpressive faces; little display of emotions
~Monotone and one syllable or general reduction in speech
~Few gestures
~Difficulties in thinking or coming up with ideas

~Catatonia/Lack of speech and response
Schizophrenia is a severe brain disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior.
Contrary to popular belief, schizophrenia isn't a split personality or multiple personality. The word "schizophrenia" does mean "split mind," but it refers to a disruption of the usual balance of emotions and thinking.
Schizophrenia is a chronic condition, requiring lifelong treatment.
It's not known what causes schizophrenia, but researchers believe that a combination of genetics and environment contributes to development of the disorder.
Problems with certain naturally occurring brain chemicals, including neurotransmitters called dopamine and glutamate, also may contribute to schizophrenia. Neuroimaging studies show differences in the brain structure and central nervous system of people with schizophrenia. While researchers aren't certain about the significance of these changes, they support evidence that schizophrenia is a brain disease. -Mayo Clinic

Group update and info
I am posting this journal for any future potential users that suffer from Schizophrenia that want to join this group.
First off, I've decided to allow submissions to be offered for upload, simple rule is that I have the right to deny any artwork without explanation, and can be ignored if you continue to be persistent. But when it becomes a problem you can be blocked without notice for you have now been warned. Chances of rejection are unlikely, but the main thing I want to avoid is art that makes you look crazy. You can depict psychosis, but it can't look like fun and games. And the art cannot make the characters look like psychopaths or look crazy in straightjackets and stuff like that. Period. There's enough stigma as is, and this group will not promote it for it will not be tolerated.
I will check on this group on occasion and will be more active as the group grows. I may be considering other users to have admin positions, but of course there's reasons why that'd be a bad idea. However I'm considering it.
But that's the simple info for today, hope for the group to grow swiftly!
Oh, and Internet Explorer is a pile of shit and won't display all of the submissions, though my Firefox can see the submissions. I tried to fix it but there's really nothing I can do. So if you want to see all of my submissions with IE then you'll have to go to the gallery instead of viewing on the front page.
