Wassup.
I've been an active lurker on the site since 2015.
Eventually I'll start posting some of my own art here, but I have to Build Up Confidence.
I'm an intersex transman, your local gaymer, and an avid pokemon fan.
I'm mostly active on Toyhouse, Discord and various petsites, but I'm gonna try to be more active here.

Price Guilting
I’ve noticed a lot of comments on YCHs and commission posts and such where people say things like:
“I’d love to bid/buy but it’s just SO EXPENSIVE.”
or
“I’d commission you but I can’t afford that price.”
or
“I wish, but that’s a big price investment!”
ect
And I know some people probably mean it in a supportive way, but it really just comes across as guilt tripping/shaming to me. Like they’re trying to make the artist feel bad for charging so much or guilt them into dropping their price.
It’s just as easy to support an artist with a complement to their style or just the art in general or their dedication or... Anything that doesn’t essentially boil down to complaining about their pricing.
If you can’t afford it, don’t bid and don’t complain. Find an artist you Can afford. I just don’t see the point in even mentioning that you find it expensive.
Artists work hard, skillwise and timewise, and their pricing is their choice. Trying to guilt them about it is. Not great. And reflects poorly on you.
Idk it’s probably just my inability to read tone through text, but I felt the need to vent.
