For those of you who haven't seen the famous/infamous trailer, here is a link to it:
Be warned, it contains rather graphic imagery and child violence.

I thought it was one of the most powerful game trailers I've ever seen. Does it make me want to buy the game? I'm rather divided in opinion on that at the moment, and if it does make me want to buy the game, it's definitely not to bash zombies gleefully or watch a little girl die, I'll tell you that. It plays more like a tearful cut-scene in a movie than something that would make you want to buy a game.
To be honest, I don't get what all the fuss is about. So many disapprove of it, and I don't quite get why. Does everyone think that all the children will magically be transported to a disaster-proof shelter when some kind of major apocalypse happens? Stuff like this WILL happen in a major disaster, and I think that despite it's clearly fantastical zombie theme it's opened quite a few eyes to what happens to not just adults, but children and the elderly as well when calamity strikes.
No, it is not "gore porn," as many like to call it. The trailer in no way glorifies in the death of an obviously tormented child. We aren't supposed to be cheering or aroused; we're supposed to be heartbroken. And the fact that such people use the fact that "dear lord there's a child dying in graphic detail" in the trailer to rail at it somewhat saddens me. Do they not know that there is suffering just as bad (and quite abit more believable) happening every day, to real children? Or do they think that it doesn't exist just because the media censors all of it? Just some disturbing food for thought.
