Where I went ...
So, some of you may have noticed that I stopped posting entirely for a while here (most of you probably didn't, considering how terrible I've been at posting for the last year or two): Basically, after nearly 20 years of living in the same flat in Lewisville, I was done with it. Discussing it with various friends, I was offered an opportunity to move elsewhere, so the day after Texas Furry Fiesta ended, with the kind assistance of my friend Jake, we made the 13 hour drive across Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. It required, and still is needing, a pretty high volume of work to arrange and carry out the move, get moved in, and then get settled in in a new state, as well as the surprisingly high amount of time to acclimatize moving from 400 feet above sea-level to well over 8000 feet above sea-level (there is a *lot* less air up here, I will not make that joke about tall people anymore).
The flip-side is that it's gorgeous up here, and relatively peaceful compared to the crummy apartment complex (the loud chatty Mexicans putting the siding onto the house up the hill are more amusing than anything else, and they go home at 5:00). I'm getting used to the fact that it's around freezing in the morning right now, and yet by 10:00 you can cheerfully go sun on the deck in a t-shirt and shorts.
This area also feels a lot like home (the area I grew up in in Canada); it's rural, winding narrow roads, trees and hills. There's a lot of parkland and hiking trails. The deer and foxes come right up to the house (in fact we have a fox-den about 50 feet from the house).
So basically, I have been distracted settling in to a new home, a new life and a new schedule (Mountain Time). I'm hoping to get back into posting again some time Real Soon Now. I definitely have a lot of art that needs scanning, I just need to set up the scanner!
Feel free to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer 'em!
