Slowly learning about lightning and shadow...
This one isn't quite done - I leave a lot of them like this, but I have to complete this one. The background will be nearly black, with some green gloss highlights.

How did you achieve the sparkly effect? Actual glitter, or a special coloring effect?

Honestly, words can't describe how I feel about your art. I really like her eyes...they really grabbed me :3

Its really nice to see some of your WIP stuff. It makes me feel I could draw something that looked nice if I had the amount of patience you must have...
Well keep it up. You totally inspired me to start working with my colored pencils again. ^_^
shimmer of the moon in her eyes?
she is beautiful, i love the spots and the way you color

Beautiful soft tones, your control over colored pencils is stupendous
Hey Ollie,
This is one of those things I learned early on about creating realistic shadows in color pencil, so I thought I'd pass it along. I works fairly true for all painting/coloring mediums, but more so for Color pencil in my opinion. Just stay away from black. If you need to use black for shadowing, dont. Just mix your dark blues/purples/violets and you should achieve something close to black, but it wont flatten your image as much as black would.
Anyways, your characters are adorable as ever, great work. Love the expressions.

The eyes are amazing, but the colors are what drew me in.
What type of paper + pencils do you use? The effect is awesome. =D
I swear my allegiance and undying love to your artistic style, for it is unrivaled, incomparable and utterly adorable !
The soft tones and shades, earthy smooth colors of traditional tools-of-trade, uncanny depiction of value, authentic architecture and designs, likeable characters... What is there not to be blissful about ?
This particular picture is a rainbow of sight-pleasing forms and hues, however shy the bright colors of a secretive ranger might appear.
Grand work, yet again.

Trully amazing. I've never encoutered anyone as talented as you when it comes to colouring. light, shade, texture and depth all exquisit! Trully nice form. Keep up the awesome work.
Love the pic! You have such a neat style.
I have the same problem with wanting to finish pictures. I find the best way around it is to do the background first. That way you stay away from all the tedium and worry of trying to do it after the character is finished.

That really is awesome :)
You've got the eyes looking wonderful there, they are definitely something I'd like to see in the final ^^ Perhaps a *little* more detail at the centre, possible suggestion of pupil?
The clothing is really nicely done as well, picking up every crease and fold that needs to be :) Flawless :-D
Even tho I'm pretty much homo, I'd love her to creep into my neck of the woods ^.^ She looks veery interesting :)

nice female form, seems you are branching out from the typical fur male dominated art, still dominate, but not exclusive.. awesome ahading and texturing with color.. love the technique.
Wow bud. I'm really liking how you're posting these with full colors on most of it fading into the sketches. That's a really neat look. Best of all I have to say those eyes are outstanding. The texture on the colors is really nice. I'd love to be able to emulate your coloring style. It's really nice.
By the gods, I am impressed. I can't wait to see the finished product.
Woah...the pose, color, anatomy and rich texture make me want to drool, even it in places it looks slightly unfinished in places.
I really like this image. I don't know if it's because of the earth-tone greens, or because you're using a more dense style of coloring.
I love the pose and the way you fill the space. Great work on this. :D

Well for a WIP this is truly something special I especially like the footwear and gloves, they're quite similar to the one my characters wear but they have metal plating which gives them an interesting 'fantasy' look
Wow I can only join the mass of people that say this is simply amazing. Love the coloring!
Wow, that is really something. I hope you do finish it, if it looks this good right now, it'll be even better when done.
Wow this is really gorgeous.I love how you can see what your pencils look like before you blend. What DO you use to blend your colors, by the way?
Actually, come to think of it, leaving it like this doesn't seem like such a bad idea, kupo. It's almost like she's simply starting to fade in to the background and become part of it like a good sniper would <3
This makes me cry.... So beautiful and it'll never be finished.. No matter how good you got, you always sought to better yourself. I miss you, Ollie...
Now this I like, this woodland sniper on her own or is she part of a sniper team? Judging from the rifle behind her it looks like it could do some damage.
