This is so groovy! I love it!
I have a soft spot for the Cajon because I used to play it in a band I was in.

I really like it! I love the style and how you've captured the traditional feel to it. That type of music works well in an eclectic mix. Wonderful! ^-^
Thank you very much I had a lot of fun making this track glad I captured the vibe.
Ah, Africa, my old homeland. I mean really old homeland, I don't think anyone in my family has set a foot on this continent in at least a couple thousand years, but one never truly forgets their first home.
Ah glad I could take you back there.. any relation to the African giant eagle owl?
Ooh.. that beat drop was tight.. personally, I'm starting to like your crazy drums and snares a little more each drop. That shaker in the background and the drums are really on point here. Lovely switch-up there at the 1:44 region, man.. What else can I say?.. LOVIN' IT!
i am interested in your drum sequences. what do you use to make them?
I used sampled loops in the .REX format since I use Reason 7 and some .wav samples for the animal sounds .. The .REX loops come with Reason 7 .. Reason gives you huge library of preset Loops and Samples to work with. With this track the Stomp Clap,Cajon' and Caxixi were .REX loops the loops are set up in "slices" that let you play the samples at different tempos without the pitch of the sample changing. Some loops were originally 128 BPM even the Vocals were 128 BPM ! I mix them with my programmed beats or just blend them with other .REX looped Beats. There are some other samplers VSTs and DAW's that can use the .REX format like Styrus RMX and Maschine
Thanks I was testing out a new sound library.. and it has some good world music sounds in it and got inspired to do this.
Love the feel. Very nice. My fursona's name is African, does that count?
Good to see you posting again and even better to hear you working with a wider scope of music. You worked hard to bring the sound of the culture to life, and the hard work shows. As usual, very very professionally done.
Thank you very much! Feels good just get something out there... hopefully more to come.
Yay! Savannimals! I'm one of thems! Really digging the chanting in this. I don't know why, but it just 'does it' for me.
Ya know .. The way you compose themes inspired this track. And I thought about your character but wasn't sure... I'll fix that.
Aww, did it? :D I'm really honored to hear that! It came out really unique and awesome.
I'm some kind of horrid amalgamation of hyena-furry and human, yeah! XD

I've been listening to this track more often lately - it's definitely nothing I'm used to, but there's something about it; musical sensations not brought about by many songs. It's almost amelodic, in a way, but I like it!
Thank you for revisiting my submissions! I have been getting quite a bit of feedback lately on this submission I think people are finding it through interesting searches. Amelodic .. hmmm maybe its the way I kept the Shakuhachi type flute sound throughout the track.
Excellent stuff, very funky :) nice to see people using Reason too
Thank you very much.. there are a few of us using the latest version of Reason.. but yep there some reason users on FA
May I ask which sound library you used for this piece? Also, was it in ReFill format?
If you don't have this refill I highly recommend it.. I used BitLey Fairlight Platnium Refill.. I think its one of if not the best Refill you can get for Reason.
Oh those.. they are in the Factory Sound Bank that comes with Reason 6 -7
The stomp clap is in Dr Rex Drum Loops in the Printz Board folder Stomp_clap
The Kahon is in the Dr Rex Percussion Loop folder in Kahon Kahon_03_100
The Caxixi is in the same folder under Caxixi Caxixi_03
I added effects to them to beef them up.

I know those instruments I mentioned weren't technically African.. but they are instruments from central America with an African influence.
This is a pleasant surprise..! Thank you very much for giving it a listen
