World of WarCraft Night Elf commission
Night Elf – World of Warcraft
Commissioned request for a night elf character custom from World of Warcraft.
Pony base is a generation 1 Sweet Heart Sister pose with a fully body repaint job with hand-blended acrylics in a pale yellowish flesh tone. Eyes painted in mattes, metallic and turquoise glitter acrylics.
Ears are horn-shaped bone beads.
Mane and tail are re-rooted in dollyhair’s arctic frost and butter creme nylon pony hair, RetrodollUS’s white Frost Bite, and restoredoll’s faerie lights.
Cresent on the forehead is a yellow glass bead I cut, with a gold jewelry piece of which I coated with metallic yellow inca gold acrylics.
OUTFIT: Started with painting the front hooves with metallic antique pigment acrylics. Crafted simple boots for the hind legs out of thin light brown deer skin leather and thick darker brown leather for the soles.
Then crafted the armor on the front legs. All leather, mid-section lined with brown maxi piping, detailed in dark brown strips of suede, black acrylics, greenish hemp, metallic gold and silver rhinestones.
Next up, did the torso/neck section. Started off with a base layer of the thin brown deer hide leather, then beige leather and the acorn bear hide leather. Swirl detail along the neck piece is metallic antique acrylic pigment applied via toothpick. Metal leaf beads detail the front broach piece.
Shoulder armor: Two layers of thick acorn-colored bear hide leather. I twisted some greenish hemp cording for the tree roots, then sealed it with tacky glue. Steampunk cogwheels were used for the pieces at each end of the armor, accented with rhinestones. Wired golden rod-colored faux pearl beads in the upper areas of the roots.
Mid-section: Used thick orange-ish leather detailed with brown cording, a strip of beige suede, and white metal rhinestones.
Train of the gown: Base layer of the thin brown deer skin leather. Next layer of detail being the acorn/beige pieces I cut out and detailed in various acrylic paints and rhinestones. Braided some hemp cording for the rope details, faux fur was used for the light fur portion, the brown fur on top is real beaver fur. Very soft stuff, nice to work with.
Staff: A strip of thick brown leather with brown leather strips fastened to both sides, all sealed in several layers of tacky glue and mod podge. Beads wired to the staff for the round ends, brown and taupe silk ribbon trim wrapped around the staff, finished with silver rhinestones.
