While I do think this is a mighty fine piece, the fact that it was considered "too adult" baffles me. I mean sure they're shirtless, but...that's hardly an adult thing.

I was gonna say it doesn't seem 'too adult' to me in the least. Though it wouldn't surprise me if 'too adult' was the reason. Everyone here in the states is so thin skinned they'll get butthurt and "traumatized" over anything. My crappy little suggestive drawings get reported on Facebook all the time hence why I don't have any actual 'adult' sketches yet. Raises my selfesteem though least they're decent enough someone feels they should be reported. Ah well fuck people sall I got. It's art not porn.

Yeah, it can look pretty adult to the wider audience that would've been exposed to it without proper context. WITH proper context however we can appreciate it for the art AND the character piece that it is.

A shame it was rejected for the calendar. I guess the Furry Fiesta people don't know there are those of us who'd love something dark, disturbing, and beautiful hanging on their wall to help mark the time. There's so much going on here (oh, Randy . . . ) It really is exceptional. Maybe you could offer it as a print?

Well we sure are glad to enjoy it. This piece is so fricking powerful. Poetic imagery at its greatest. I don't see why this is "too adult". Personally, I think its "too gay" for them, that's my take. Could be the bdsm? but its really not. Shirtless, as far as I'm concerned, is no big deal. I still say its because they think its too gay. Either way I'm too gay too, after all, I get to enjoy such an amazing piece of art.

It really only shows Grant bound by the chains of being a Werewolf and his loss of his love while Randy and Bent is trying to help him soothe his troubled soul.

I'm really digging this. It looks fantastic, and I love it.

This is a truly wonderful masterpiece of poetic art and it truly speaks to me about its hidden symbolical meanings. In it i see Grant as a lonely beast not only chained up his emotions but his own werewolf nature. The way Bent pulls at Grants chains shows me a detailed struggle in a relationship between the two people in Grants life who have never met eachother and the revealing of Grants werewolf form to Bent as Grant finally lets his buried feelings for Randy resurface again. (Despite Randy being dead or missing of course)

Whatzisface with the pink hair is holding the end of the chain in one hand, and pulling on the middle with another. From a distance, it looks like he's pulling Human Grant's skin back to reveal Werewolf Grant underneath.

As a standalone piece, no, I do not. If the "too adult" is in reference to Grant's story and the body of work associated with him, I can understand the connection. It's a bit like having a photo of a pornstar who is well-dressed.

That said, I think the "Adult by association" would've applied no matter what the subject of this particular piece was, and I was specifically asked to do a painting of Grant, so...

somewhatly risqué, "PG-16," maybe..

..but, stand-alone, 'adult' is not what i would have opined.

The fact that it's very artistic and amazing overshadows the fact that it's even slightly adult.
Honestly, a lot of art from thousands of years ago that we continue to praise today is filthier than these.
I really question the furry fiesta's decision, because this is one of your best artworks that I've seen so far.

Holy crap. This is incredible on so many levels.

This is a pretty awesome piece, I like how it looks. The chain is wrapped around Grant along with Randy and Bent, but it's open and loose, so it seems like what's binding him, is all in his own head. Bent looks like he's showing him how he could be free, and even Randy, who's 'asleep,' shows how easy it is to get rid of. Easier said than done though.
