Solita Su Alma - Ginastera (Fl, Hrp, Vln, Soprano)
For Solo Soprano, Harp, Flute, Violin, and Drum;
Performance by the group I am in, performing the second song in the collection of songs "Cantos de Tucumán" by Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera, based on the folk songs of his home country and region.
I am playing flute. I also made this recording myself, using a pair of microphones, and adding light touches to the recording in Logic Pro.
Lyrics:
Translation:
How lonely is the soul of the little girl.
What is she thinking
When at every turn she looks down the road
to Tucumán?
The one who has left- the agave of her soul:
Will he return?
His sweetheart, his little flower in the air:
Will he remember her?
Oh, Catamarca, where I was born
To my misfortune!
The little girl grieves, grieving, she starts to weep.
Virgin Mother, Virgin of the Valley, console her.
