I love hyenas. Had to get my hyena feels out and start on my FC art show art! My hyena lady Kani in all her curvy glory, done in markers with a bit of colored pencil details, and interference violet acrylic paint on the feather. The paint doesn't show up in scans but it's quite shiny in person!

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful! the craftsmanship... so clean.. :O
Oh gosh I love her hair and the peacock feather, beautiful. Also I've said it before and I'll say it again, I WISH I could colour like that!
Okay first, I love your new dual icon. It is awesome! Second I love hyena gals too! Third, i love how you can bring out a sexy piece without having to go all nude on us. Often times the hint at nudity is far better than actually flashing everything.
Love it.
Love it.
This piece is amazing, I really love it, and the character is gorgeous.
Oh yay, I'm glad you like her! And yeah, haven't bought my tickets yet but definitely going, hope you can make it too! Now's probably a good time to get them, we're less than 3 months out now, eek!
The way her hair covers her body reminds me of Botticelli's Birth of Venus.
The hair's actually based on Mucha's work! But I can kinda see the resemblance, yeah.
I absolutely love the vibrant colors! What markers do you use?
And so it was that all bowed before the glory of her curves.
Love how the hair and clothes are flowing, just the right amount of coverage
Beautiful, Shini! I definitely see the Mucha influence, and I love the soft shadows and texture of the coloured pencil. Gorgeous work :)
There was a recent piece of her "in action" actually! My collab with Bagheera, just a few submissions back :)
What paper or primed ground did you use and how did you digitalize the painting? I've always big problems digitalizing the true colours of my paintings.
The paper is smooth bristol (the strathmore brand), readily available in most North American shops. My scanner is an Epson Perfection V33, really good and I usually don't have to do any color correcting, only brightness/contrast. Don't know if the specific scanner model is sold anymore, but I hear epsons in general are pretty good.
First I thought the scarf is her hair and my mouth just fell open^^ "I need to touch eeeet!"
And yes, that's a really lovely hyena lady over there! :3

A muse err? Erato would be the most likely choice. Wonderful work and cool how the spots fade towards the white. I can hear her say seductively, "Come and get me boys."
I saw this at the convention and am very much happy to have held the winning bid on this one. The title, the species and the feather and jewelry contrasting with the other colors all make it a great addition to the art I've won over the years and I'm so glad to have managed to save up enough funds to bid on such a great work of art. I do apologize for not favoriting and commenting on it before, but the time period of the last quarter of 2014 was very stressful and hectic for me as I was finishing up with college, so a lot was on my mind then. Again, this is a really great work of art for many reasons and I am so very happy that I finally had the funds to bid on something like this.
I am thrilled you like her so much, thank you for bidding! I love doing art for art shows and exploring my own characters and favorite themes!
