This short, mysterious theme is for page 112 of Arven92's comic, Chakra: Battle of the Titans, when Cheetah goes looking for Orca. The page can be found here.
I wanted to make a sequel of sorts to this song so this is another reason I tried to include a 'blues' feel to it.
Hope you enjoy! c:

Nope to... the lack of a proper scale? The instruments? Everything about the song? :P
I have a degree in music with a focus in composition and intensive study in musical score that says otherwise. The arpeggiated chords forming the bassline sets a fantastic tone for the eerie setting. As we see the character strolling into the misty setting we are given a sense of foreboding, but the percussion beat and slightly uplifting melody then come in as a pleasant contrast to convert the terror into optimism that our other hero is still alive. Shall I go on? I could write a paper on why this works musically.
I could do too - I am a classical pianist and organist and I have absolute hearing. I make music since I am 5 years old. I also know the whole crap about musical theory etc.
but that is not the point here.
What I mean is that it does not fit together cuz those game music drums do not fit to that marimba-played melody or however you call it.

It's a clash yes, but it fits along with the score for the rest of the collection. It matches in style, instrumentation, manners of syncopation, etc. Anything else would sound out of place in the video it will be used in.
well if you say so - I would be ashamed using such a song in any of my videos..... but don't take it personally Randy ^^
I won't take it personally, don't worry. ^^ You guys each have things that you like and don't like. And you were educated/trained differently, so of course there'd be some varying opinions. Only thing that really bothered me is that you could've said something like this:
What I mean is that it does not fit together cuz those game music drums do not fit to that marimba-played melody or however you call it.
Instead of a "nope" :P

O___O
You have no idea how happy this comment made me. I really do appreciate it, Deeko! I was actually smiling and laughing because of it :D I'm glad you caught the emotions I was trying to convey to the listener. I still can't believe that it deserves a comment as awesome as this, considering I basically made up my own scale to compose it :P
Thanks a ton, really. ^^
