I am really loving this in-panel artwork!!
For the second convention in a row, someone during my Voice Acting Workshop panel drew a sketch of one of the scenes. This time, it's from The Blur Effect Scene 2 written by tazel. This was drawn by luprand who recorded FOUR times during my two Rainfurrest 2015 panels! That might seem greedy, but really, I think people were so impressed by his performances, they were asking him to join them at the microphones. :) I wonder if those people knew about his art talents as well!
A couple things are really fun about this sketch. For one, HipHop (the smaller kangaroo rat character) is clearly female. I usually write down some gender for all my characters (which I always insist is only a guide-- any gender voice actor is free to play any character in my panels), though for this one, no gender is given. The role has been played by both men and women in my panels, though the author has told me that so far he thinks the voice actresses have done the best job capturing the character, despite the character being male in his own mind. shataivian did a stellar job playing this character during the panel and clearly inspired luprand to sketch a female character.
The other thing that's funny is that I have a piece of artwork for this script drawn by pac. Some who have been to my panels may have even seen it and have noticed how strikingly similar this picture is to pac's drawing, with the characters in the same positions and the sizes being almost identical. The funny thing is, pac's picture wasn't in the script booklet at this con, so luprand just happened to draw this that way!
Anyway, it was extremely flattering when luprand gave me this sketch at the end of the panel. While much of the fun in my voice acting panels is clearly the voice acting, I think there's a lot of fun had in just the stories being told, some of them stretching over multiple scripts. And when I see art like this, it reminds me that even a single page of dialogue between two characters can inspire so much more.

This was magnificent, so very quickly done, and the resemblance to Pac's original piece is *UNCANNY*. It's like... this is THE pose for that scene. Anything beyond it wouldn't work anymore.
Many thanks to Luprand, and Shataivian for the awesome performance that inspired it. ^_^

Ah, wow ... I'm glad you liked the sketch! (And much humbled to discover the resemblance.)
