“You see him yet, Dan?”, The younger and less experienced of the two German Shepherds asks his partner.
“No but the bird brain is around here somewhere, Rick.” the older one replied.
A look of concern crosses Rick’s face. “Do you think he is ok? You know he did fall fairly far.”
Dan lets off a dry chuckle and spits into the gravel beneath their feet. “This is your first time in the field, isn't it?”
Rick just nods. “Hey, Dan.” he says after a little while longer. “You smell that?”
Dan stops in his tracks and turns his head up a tad, sniffing the air. “Yeah. That’s avian blood. He’s upwind. Let’s go.” The two make tracks up the wind stream and just another mile’s hike reveals their quarry. He is lying there, motionless, in growing pool of blood. They each take an arm and start dragging the falcon straight back to the van.
“What’s taking them so long?” the commander waiting back at van asks. He is getting less and less patient as time passes. By that time the rookies had radioed base and packed up everything. He then sees something moving from over the horizon, prompting him to reach for his binoculars. “About damn time”, the Shepherd says upon seeing the two rookies carrying a limp body with them.
The the three Shepherds quickly set about getting the body into the van and hooked up before setting off on the long journey back.

All I can do is moan as I start to open my eyes but instantly regret this. The dim light from the room making my head feel like it is splitting open. I take a deep breath and try to move one of my wings. This effort is stopped when I feel a shooting pain down my arm that makes me squawk. My entire body is racked with pain.
I take another deep breath and try to remember what happened. I need to figure out where I am. “Falling...yeah... falling. That is what I remember last.” I say out loud. “Well that explains the pain.” I think to myself.
I slowly open my eyes again to see where I am. I gasp expecting to see a cabin or the sandy desert but instead I see a very modern hospital room. Some restraints are keeping my arms and legs to the bed, but the real shock is when I see what I am dressed in.
My beak drops open. My lower half is dressed in nothing but a surprisingly thick all white diaper. A deep scowl crosses my face. I am pissed. Someone had the gall to take me, dress me up like a baby in a diaper, then cuff me to a bed.
I start to squirm but I forgot about my broken wing. Another high pitched squawk sounds out. I feel my blood run cold as I feel a warm feeling spread across my padded crotch. I am hooked up to an IV and I didn't realize how full my bladder was. The surge of pain made me release my bladder.
My feathers do a good job of hiding my reddening face. I just keep on flooding myself. In my avian body once I start I can’t stop. By the time I am done the absurdly thick diaper is almost full. “Whoever took me knows about avian furs.” I think as I rest my on the pillow to await whatever will happen next.
