The Sonic Costume
By Eunacis
Part 1
The Purchase
I hate waiting in line, I hate it, with every fiber (or fibre for any British readers) of my being. It is the epitome of my hatred, and anyone who's ever met me knows this.
"Stupid line," I grumble, "MOVE FASTER!" Mysteriously enough, most of the other people in line gave nods and "hmm"s of approval. Everyone, myself included, wanted the line to move as fast as possible. People were hyped as hell, this was like "Elvis Meets the Beatles", no, this was far better. When it was announced, the fanbase orgasmed twice as much than when Kickassia was announced, no easy task.
Okay, I guess I've gotten your attention. Sega announced that they were making costumes of the characters from the Sonic franchise. This was big, we hadn't had official Sonic costumes since the early nineties. And these, by the promotional advertisements, were by far better than the originals. The originals looked, well, like Halloween costumes. These, they apparently came up with some combination of trick stitching and perspective padding, or something like that, I don't know. When you put them on, you looked exactly like the character, every last detail and, more importantly, proportion.
I eventually made it to the front, I had enough money to buy two, I looked at what they had left. They had every character that ever appeared! Sonic was obviously my first purchase, for the second though, I had to think about it for a short while. I eventually decided to buy Espio, by the look of it, and by the salesman's face, I was the first to buy one. He gave me my costumes and I gave him his money. And with that, I was off.
