One moment you're going through the mall next thing you know ZAP!! and as hard as a rock!
that's like the most boring transformation ever.
not in the first few minutes, of course - that's pretty exciting . terrifying in fact.
and the first few days, getting used to it, maybe even getting to like it, that can get you quite hard...
but after a week or two, or a month it grows pretty old.
and after a year or two, you start to get desperate
it will only be after ten years, or twenty, that you realize that stone statues age a little bit slower than your average fur - I mean, granted, after a few centuries you see some crinkles and cracks, until erosion eventually gives you a facelift and smoothens your features again
eventually I guess you turn to dust, then to sediment, and possibly eventually - once more to solid bed rock
by then your mind either vanished or got insane or you forgot that you ever existed as something else I guess either way by then you think in different timespans
but those first few years, when you still remember who you are, but have absolutely nothing to do, while the people that knew you slowly grow old and die or forgot you - that must be boring as hell
like, when you're at the military and you are on guard duty, and waiting for the shift to end boring - except its like you know that the shift will never ever end, and there will also nothing happen that justifies your guard duty in the first place boring

on the other hand exciting things can always happen out of the blue.
like this crazy wizzard that things he can turn you into a stone golem
or that crazy artist who thinks his steam hammer is the right tool to give you a bit of a contemporary impressionistic makeover

I feel this is one of those situations where it's best not to question the scenario, and simply sit back and enjoy it.
At least, we the viewwers should do that: she's absolutely buggered.
