*eyeing "Full Theme" option* Well now, I have a new commission goal in mind. owo
Must say, I'm quite surprised that you're getting commissioners willing to pay that much. *reflects on my own business*
I've always wondered how to quantify music making efforts in relation to commission charges. What was the process behind determining these results, if I might ask? (Coming from a fellow composer)
Well a lot of it depends on whether or not you want to make a living off of your work. I determine prices based off of my work habits, such as how long it takes, how much effort I put into my music, and how much I value my work on a personal level. I also took a look at how much people like Fox Amoore price their work and take that into consideration of how much I should price mine.
Now, this next statement may sound a bit egotistical, but I assure you it is very important. You need to take into account the quality of your finished work, such as the final mix and composition skills. If your work does not sound up to par of your pricing, then you shouldn't price it as such. Examples of me doing this are when I first began. My first commission prices were put at $50.
You also don't want to up the prices too insanely high. Keep a modest price range. This, and the fact that more you progress in experience, quality, and trust with others, the more your prices should represent that, with moderation, of course.
I hope this has helped you out ^^

i agree with you...but i charge $50 a song and no one buys them. i think it's just that fur affinity in general isn't the best place to sell music...
this is true. I did have to put up an ad in order to grab the attention of people :V Still do :D
are you selling any music? your stuff is great...i was wondering do you have any advice for me? i seem to be having a hard time getting people to buy even though a lot seem to like my music.
I don't really sell my music. Anything that I produce for myself and/or for fun is normally given out for free. Surprisingly, even then, no many people have downloaded my work X3
that's crazy! i think it's just because it's fur Affinity... most people come here for porn and the few that listen to music must not have much money. it's hard as a musician...even famous people don't have there stuff purchased anymore.
owo I have read all the infos! 8D Yay. I need to look into your gallery works too more. XD But yus, ahm still interested. And it's neat that you'll be at BLFC, I'm gonna try to go as well. I just found out I've had a sinus infection for two weeks today, so I should be getting some meds for that and hopefully I'll feel remotely decent. owo
Your musical talents far, far surpass most, and I would easily be willing to pay that much for a full theme. A professionally composed song of that length or longer can cost upwards of $4-5000- that's insane
