'Sewer Rat Birthday' By Metal
The rain was pouring hard today and yet the fire was still alive with strong and warm flames. Waylon was fiddling with a few tin cans as the water rolled down his makeshift hovel of sheet metal and inferior bits of word reinforced with more then needed scrap metal.
He was trying to look for something to snack on before he went to sleep, seeing as luck wasn't with him today when he went scrounging around the dump and a few parks in the area. Not a lot of folks out today which meant little to no pickings for the wee rodent. As he slumped down onto the half mattress he stared up onto the graffiti covered walls as his stomach growled hungrily but his mind was focused on something else, his dear friend Baps.
As his mind wandered into the dark corners of his mind, worrying about where she had been the entire day and was late coming back, he heard a cheerful but tired sounding voice coming from over the bridge.
"HOI WAYLON~!" Baps had come back with a super soaked brown paper bag tucked into her body as she jumped over the railing and scrambled for footing as she rushed into the small shelter and pounced on Waylon, giving him a tight but wet hug.
"ACKFEK! YOUSE FEKKIN' SCARED ME, BAPS?! Where da hell you been all this time?" Waylon flailed a bit as the tiny mouse gal pal snuggled his chest before sitting herself up with a snickering and squeaking smile. "Oh I've been out n' around, man! I gots us some good stuff~!"
Baps turned to her bag she had been clutching onto and dove into it, letting her tail raise a bit along with her leg as she rummaged through with quick abandon. "Holdonholdonhold, It's in here somewhere~" She said as she swayed her hips back and forth with a cheerful mood, and Waylon didn't mind peeking at the little wiggle show.
A few moments later and a giggle from Waylon afterwards Baps returned to his side and held up several bags of chips, a half loaf of bread and an actual non-spoiled block of cheese, Swiss to be precise. "I got us dinners! With all this rain, I didn't think I was gunna find anyting, but THEN, I found a five dolla bill wedged into an old phone booth and raced to the store with it~" She jazz handed her arms over the goodies she plopped on his lap before smirking as she dandgled something in front of his face with her tail.
"I also got a little something special for you.. Birthday Boy~" Baps smiled warmly, her toothy grin slowly creeping on her expression as Waylon looked up and saw the small item in front of him. A well rounded cupcake with white and red sprinkles smooshed on blue icing with a slightly torn wrapper around it. She placed it on the ground as she chewed on a package with a few worn sized candles in it and her other hand fumbled with a lighter.
Waylon didn't know how to react at first, looking to the literal feast in front of him of actual edible food and to his drenched friend who seemed to shiver now and then as she tried to light the small candle as she poked it into the much smaller then 'regular cake'.
"Baps.. I.. how did.. Youse remembered?.. Even I didn't remembah.." Waylon stammer squeaked a bit, unsure what to do until Baps gathered a large and old dusty blanket from the corner and drapped it over Waylon as she snuggled into his lap, her ears flopping against his coat covered chest.
"Oi, dontchu worry about it, Waylon, youse can't survive out anywhere without a little help from ya friends roight?" She looked up to him and winked, her smile as warm as the fire still flickering in the heavy downpour as she plopped her chin back down and sighed happily, snuggling into his body. "Happeh Birfdayz, Waylon~ <3"
Waylon looked down to the small cupcake, the candle lit treat glowing dimly in there very humble abode as he stared out into the draining sewer outlets and his surroundings. He stared outwards for the longest time before a little set of tears formed in his eyes as he turned back to Baps, moving his hands over her messy but bright red hair and brushed down her back.
With a sniffle and a trembling smile, Waylon sighed and squeaked out. "Tank youse, Baps..<3" He sniffled again and rubbed his muzzle with his other armed sleeve and picked up the cupcake, blowing out the candle and taking a bite of it, letting his wet eyes stare back out into the still roaring fire.
... I just love how this fekkin' picture came out. ;3; I just had to add a little story blurb to it. <3 <3 <3

Such feels T_T, makes me grateful for what I have
I know right? But even when ya got nothing, there's always a brighter side to things. :3
yeah and my own birthday is right around the corner to, so these feels hit hard
That's fantastic. When they approached me in the vault all I could think was, "I've killed deathclaws bigger than you..."
It was really a super feels piece, and I had to brush the dust off my alleged writing skills again for it. Special picture it is. X3
