Frederic Alexander Lyon was born on December 29th, 3239 as the illegitimate child of Sally and Chris. Even though Sally as the biological mother, the child resembled his father, appearing as Human, though with genetic traits like blue eyes and slightly red-brown hair of his mother. Frederic was not cared for by Sally, who had the child in secret.
It was believed that a scandal would arise if knowledge of the child was ever brought to light, and this was true. Sally had the baby in secret, and he was cared for by a Human woman named Sasha Lyon, who served as a handmaiden for the royals. Sally tearfully agreed to let Lyon raise her child.
It was fortunate for the baby to be Human as a Mobian child would have been far more difficult to keep secret as a resemblance could be noted.
Sally rarely gets to see her son, and the baby does not recognize Sally as his mother. She is pained because not only is Frederic growing up without his true mother, but he is growing up without knowing who his father was. Chris died on June 12th, 3239 from a gunshot wound to the head while attempting to subdue corrupt UEG president Troy Marshall.
Frederic lives with his adoptive mother in Avignon, France as a cover. Sally can only watch from a distance hoping that one day she can tell her son the truth, but she knows that with the threat of the Prisoner, she may not even get that chance.

This was at the closing chapter of Deception, which I published a few months back now on FF.net and DA. It's pretty much known that Chris has finally bought it and had a child. I haven't updated here for quite a while.
And it's depressing because we're ramping up to the big ending soon. Because once we start with the Prisoner, it's all going to go to hell. There is no nice way for this to really end the way I've set it up and it's partially by accident. The child itself is light, because it's a sort of continuation of the character in a way, and what isn't known is what plans I have for Frederic. He will not be bound to the fanfiction series.

Damn. I missed a lot then. Stopped reading around the fifteenth chapter. Life got in the way, and by the time I rememberd I was already way behind.
Ahh. So basically going to end everything with one hell of a bang then. Well I wish you luck, and I hope you have fun when you do write that. And also just in case ignore any whiners about his death. Write the story you want to write.
So he will be the character for an original fiction, or fanfiction outside Halo/Sonic?

I don't know if there are many whiners, but we are getting close to the end. Some were a bit surprised at the suddenness, but I don't think people were reacting that much First, Miles and his friends need to get back in one piece from the 40K universe if at all to get a weapon to at least piss the Prisoner off.
In original fiction, he'll be a bit more than that. He'll be a virtual link. To keep her son safe, Sally will order Lyon to take Frederic far away from what's happening, as in, to another universe. If I ever get to finishing it, this will be where the original fiction will take place.

You will of course forgive fans for writing their own fanfiction about it.
Like writing an AU story where Sally just went "Screw It.", and kept her son, anyway.
Yes, that decision is very, VERY risky. but, in this scenario, she didn't care.
and just couldn't part from the only living remnant of Chris that was left.
(You did say in one of your other illustrations "in another world."
Well, if you wait long enough. Fans will explore that unsaid 'other world.')

To be honest, if there are fans like that, I'm not personally aware of them. I always considered myself highly niche.
Of course, people are free to do what they want of course. I received a request to bring Chris back, but once something happens in this particular world, I have to stick to it. So I can't just change things in the strictest sense, where boom, he's back to life, and boom, his life is great; that's just bad storytelling.
Because of the alternate universe shtick, anything is really possible.
Also, there are personal reasons why I chose to do things the way I do.

To be honest. I also wrote something similar to what you did here on my own Sally Fictions.
and, given the Halo-esque nature of the universe that you penned.
I wouldn't just bring Chris back for no reason other than fan service, either.
(I was able to get away with it on my own fiction.
but, even then I had it make sense. and, not be random.)
Trust me, you do have fans..namely, ME.
And, if I were to write an alternate take on this.
I would have Sally keep Frederic, with the bulk of the storyline being
her struggling to be a single mother, and fighting for her right to raise him.
You already know of my Mobilander concept (we spoke of it once before)
and, how that itself provided a drama over a new species created from Mobian/Human relations.
Well, since then my storylines have evolved.
Such as Sally's human husband facing some criticism from Mobians,
who dislike the idea of a human, an Overlander becoming the next king of Mobotropolis.
(with Geoffery St. John even trying to assassinate him under the misguided belief
that he is "saving the kingdom from Overlander tyranny.")
And, when a baby was born..things escalated.
I even have my own AU that I collaborated with a friend,
where a human villain named "Purge" took over GUN, and initiated a genocidal hunt
against Mobians, and Mobilanders in what could be comparable to World War II Nazi Germany.
Oh, but I'l getting off-track here.
Point is, I would write a scenario where Sally fights off prejudice,
and raises her and Chris' son as best she can.
As after seeing how her life gets in the timeline where she gave him up.
I feel she deserves SOME semblance of happiness.
(or, at the very least have her see, or talk to him more often.
have her take some part in his life, and not be a stranger through all of it.)
I just don't like to see her tortured so much.

Well, Sally's thought of it in a short story called a Mother's Love. One of the reasons she's made that decision is because she's afraid of contingency plans put in place by the deposed president, who may have had backup plans to eliminate his enemies in dire circumstances. In truth, she is quite happy when she is with him, and by her own admission if the situation was different, she would have probably chosen to raise her son.
Besides, despite wanting to stay hidden, a lot of people knows she has had a relationship - Marshall and his inner circle being one, and at least one intelligence community being the other. As of that story, it has been perhaps been four months since Frederic was born. She's possibly suffering from postpartum depression, which isn't unusual in that time frame.
Before her son was born, perhaps her issue was prejudice, but after his birth, the issue became security from outside sources. Sally has always been possessive of Chris, so Freddy is a continuation of that.
I can always have her increase her visits too over time as she gets more comfortable with it. At the end of Deception, she invites her son's foster mother to Mobius, which is close to a year after his birth, so that distance shrunk a little.
I think in the end, consequences plays into things. Every decision has one. The choice to fall in love with Chris meant that her love with Sonic had to fail, and having a child, first out of wedlock, second with the soldier class, and third with an alien, technically speaking, would have looked off-putting.
Something that I've been using lately is that Sally compares Chris to Kahn physically, so it may not be as difficult a jump for her in terms of species.
Right, your continuity uses slightly different rules. I'm not one hundred percent sure on the biology, but it seems to be somewhat similar to what I'm going for, but a little different. You're using hybrids it seems - a new type of person. I like using one or the other mentality, generally following the gender of the parents. It also seems that Tiana is the first of her kind. I don't think Frederic would be the first really.
For Humans, I think I've decided that there's so many Humans that people probably just wouldn't care because relatively speaking, Chris was a nobody - not a politician or a general, and worse, a special forces operator with a lot of classified missions under his belt, so a lot of his career technically doesn't exist. Perhaps his family would raise an eyebrow or two. Sally's a head of state which makes her more important, and thus, open to criticism, not to mention being a public figure as a Freedom Fighter. Everyone kind of assumed she and Sonic were an item.
Chris' problem was that he was labelled a terrorist by Marshall. With over a trillion Humans in the universe, that title doesn't go away immediately, even with the new President saying that Marshall was a loony.
It's a bit more complicated I think in the end.

That sounds like a very good idea. I'd love to read something of that.
Yes, I penned Tiana as 'The First.' but, ever since I first showed you that character,
I have created other hybrid characters, thus making for not the only one that exist.
One of which being Princess Sally's son (named Caleb)
whose human father was a scout in GUN, who gained super speed
from an experiment sanction by Robotnik to figure out how to finally defeat Sonic.
(It's a long story.)
Point being their our respected storylines are Similar, yet different.
