You've got the snow about right. It also depends on the conditions of the day... sometimes it's all powerdery, sometimes its all wet and flat, sometimes it's all icy and potentially deadly to be skiing on...

Tried snowboarding once... and ended up with a misaligned tailbone from falling down so damn much. It may not be as hip, but I'll stick to just classic skiing, thank you very much.
