This is the 2nd picture of my dragon character Ator, drawn and designed by 
ikar but commissioned by me.
The design went through many iterations to fulfill all of my personal demands, but the artist took them all very seriously and managed to pleasantly surprise me with this wonderful result!
Originally this was supposed to be just lineart, but when that was achieved, we decided to take it further and add full shading.

I agree! The artist has received 3 payments from me, which I believe compensated him enough for his hard work.
Regarding the tail, it does look quite dangerous! It is meant to be used as a defensive weapon against attacks from behind since the wings make the dragon vulnerable from that angle, however it looks like it could be used for offense as well since its so flexible.
