Your head feels like it's been stuffed with hot coals, and cotton balls. Your body feels weak, and cramped, and stiff, but you try to move anyway. It's hard, but opening your eyes is considerably harder, still. Harder, because that means blinking the exhaustion out of your eyes, looking out of your little metal box, and seeing what you've become in the wall-length mirror installed across from your cell... no, not a cell. Cells are what humans get confined in, and you're not a human, anymore. This is a cage. Your cage. And its small confines are all the pitiful excuse for safety and privacy you get, now. You've been here for a week, and, in truth... all you want is a few more hours sleep, before they come for you, again.
The squirtle just arrived, today. Not knowing any better, he's been pounding on the glass for an hour, now, and keeping everyone else awake. Glaceon won't stop crying, either, after her latest session with the men in the coats. Others were crying, too, but not nearly as loud, not as... inconsiderately. Your world's shrunk to just these six walls... five of them made of plate steel, and one of them made of glass, or... that other see-through material that humans make. The men in coats had taken that word away from you, recently, and no matter how much you reached for it, like so much else, it was always just outside your grasp. You'd given up even trying, when you run into that, now. The newer pokemon still cry, still fight, and bite, and scratch, and try to escape when the men come, but, in your heart, you know there's no way out for you. Once, you'd been that struggling pokemon, stripped of your human body, and, more slowly, your human mind, but it had been days since you'd cried yourself to sleep. Now, all that was left was to see what came next... and it held no fear for you, anymore. When the men came, in their big, black leather coats, and stopped in front of your cage, your face showed only weariness, and resignation. Whatever it was, you'd never see the inside of that pathetic little metal box, again... and who knows? Maybe what came next wouldn't be so bad.
More concept art for my upcoming comic/manga/combination story-and-pictures-thing, Pokemon: New Life! More information to come, but I'll answer questions in the comments, if anyone has any! Ten hours in Clip Studio Paint. Please let me know what you all think, I'm REALLY happy with how this one came out! Thanks again.

This one did come out really good, I love the art style and coloring choice. I can't wait to see what the New Life comic looks like.
I figure not, since you were the one I was collaborating with on it :P Silly fox.
Lovely art and very interesting (and a little sad and scary) story to go with it =3 Awesome work
it does have an interesting vibe to it looking forward for more
Thanks, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'll certainly be doing more, soon.
Hey! You are definitely showing signs of improvement, your faces definitely look better in this one! Keep it up!
Oh, thanks! I'm really glad to hear you think so :D Any other thoughts you'd like to share?
Naaah, I don't want to get all nit picky. I will ask: what program are you using for these and do you use a tablet? Thanks
Clip Studio Paint, also known as Manga Studio V. My tablet is a Bamboo Create, white version ^^
Ah, I use photoshop and mouse, so I'm not sure if I have any tips for you other than maybe work on sharpening up the shading. Practice doing shading on spheres and cylinders with lighting from various different locations, It it might be just a matter of learning the brushes and software better. And make sure that the shading's done on a separate layer from the color so you can adjust them later. Personally, I have one layer for base color, one layer for dark (black airbrush) one layer of primary light (white airbrush) and one layer of underlight. That way if any of them are too strong or the wrong color I can easily change that with layer opacity or hue/saturation adjustments.
If you already know all that, then I have other tips but many are photoshop specific.

Nope! It's a new terrorist organization, Interad, which was made specifically for this universe ^^ And yes, it's... pretty dark. Heh.
oh my, this looks fun!
Can I ask for elaboration on what's going on here?
oh, and will diapers be involved? It is your signature thing after all!

This is a holding facility for one of the terrorist organizations that exist in the Pokemon Universe variant that I'm using for the comic, Interad. Interad's primary long-term goal is the eradication of humanity, by way of turning everybody into pokemon. To maintain secrecy, one of their primary tools is to transform someone, then subject them to extensive hypnosis to erase their memories, identity, and the like, and replace it instead with the memories and identity of a wild pokemon. After that, they're either released, kept for testing, or given to Interad trainers to reinforce their new sense of self. These are all humans that are undergoing hypnosis. Squirtle still has some fight left in him, Scizor is struggling with what's real, and what isn't, Glaceon is crying over what's been taken from her, and Charmander has more or less given in.
As for diapers... yes, kind of. I'm going to tweak things so that the diaper themes aren't plot-integral, so people who aren't into that can enjoy the comic regardless, but, for those who want to, there will be several side-arcs dealing with those themes in detail :P Any questions?

Can you elaborate on the themes we'l be seeing? Transformation, obviously, but others? I can't imagine Interad would let them hold onto something as human as the concept of potty training.
btw, would you at all be opposed to me writing a short something to go with this picture?

It caught my eye again and I had a bit of a brainwave for a story based on it.

Transformation, brainwashing, kidnapping, age regression will all be in the core narrative. As for Interad pokemon losing their potty training, that hasn't come up yet and I can't help but feel like it would detract from the mood a bit, so probably not. Diaper dependent pokemon make less than ideal shock infantry, after all. It does come up quite a bit on the protagonist's side, however, so don't worry, there'll be no shortage of pamps if that's what you're looking for, it just won't be a plot focus. :P
As for the picture, sure, why not ^^ Go ahead.

Sounds like an awesome story either way. Looking forward to it!
And thanks for the permission.
Oh, and completely unrelated, but is your Argyraspides account still active? I only discovered you had an "Extreeme" account recently, and I'm loving what I'm reading. Shame some of the stories are unfinished though. Are they permanantly dead?

xD I lost access to the Argyraspides account back when all the passwords got scrambled. Afraid I don't have access to the old email anymore, and I've been too lay-lay to go through the other channels. I'm still planning on continuing some of those stories, but they're not high on my list unfortunately unless a weird inclination strikes me, which does occasionally happen.
And yeah! New Life/Project: Unity is going to be two tons of fun, and long as hell. I'm looking forward to it as well! Any other questions?

Shame to hear that. Though good to hear they might be continued. "The Eagles Thrall" was by far the most interesting of the unfinished ones imo.
Is this your only foray into the world of pokemon? Because thinking on it, it fits pretty well with the sort of fiction your write.
I can easily imagine a lit of places requiring pokemon outside their balls to be padded for sanitary reasons. And most probably don't like it!

The collaboration that turned into New Life/Project: Unity was originally based off a similar idea I had years ago, but it's grown considerably in the year we've been working on it. Other than that, yes, I've written some pokemon commissions before, but this is the first I've done for its own sake. I do actually have quite a bit of concept and half-canon art from New Life, if you want to see it, though :) Some of it even has pamps!
Oh, I'd love to see that! Especially the pamps!
Can I ask more specifically about the diaered content of NL? I love the transformation stuff all on its own, but the Pamps stuff sounds interesting.

Well, the first of the pamp content simply comes from the fact that Psudo likes diapering his pokemon, and uses it himself as a stress-release :P That's mostly shenanigan territory, though, and it mostly falls into slice of life plots, rather than any of the heavy stuff.
***SPOILERS FOR ANYONE CONCERNED***
In terms of actual plot-relevant diaper content, that comes from one of Interad's other toys, one of many. Namely, weapons designed to drain the power cores right out of a pokemon, causing their bodies, and, in extreme cases, their minds as well to regress back to childhood or infancy, since their core is no longer capable of supporting anything larger or stronger. Here's some of the dribble I've sketched, but never finished, in the past few months.

looks very interesting.
So how do his pokemon respond to being padded? Do they resist? embarrassed by it? Are there specific rules he has for them?

Depends on the pokemon x3 Some of them like it, some of them go back and forth with him in terms of roles, most get embarrassed by it :P
terms of roles? What do you mean by that?
Are they expected to fully use them?
Oh, and what kind of pokemon does he have?
Are they expected to fully use them?

Again, spoiler territory, but I'll answer fully ^^ In the New Life 'verse, things are... a bit different than the vanilla pokemon universe. For instance, one iffy aspect is that starter pokemon are pretty well indoctrinated for complete obedience from hatching, among other things. Some grow out of it, others don't. Psudo and his totodile, Hale, have a sort of... bizarre relationship, and they swap roles occasionally. When Psudo's the starter, sometimes he winds up in pamps :P His mate later on in the story, Vee, also likes to bab him sometimes, and he returns the favor, so they go back and forth. Relationships aren't always set.
Using diapers? That depends on the character in question. Poise, Psudo's vulpix, has secret diaper fantasies, and she winds up wet and blushy on a fairly regular basis around base, though she secretly loves it. With the others, it's really dependent on the character in question.
You want a team transcript? Well, alright.
Hale, Totodile.
Shade, Murkrow.
Nio, Nidoran (as well as about a dozen other nidoran, but they're never established as characters.)
Poise, Vulpix.
Dio, Sandshrew.
Zeek, Zekrom.
Skype, Mimikyu (The group's artist and tailor, oddly enough, and a pacifist since the character was created before we had stats and movesets for Mimikyu :P)
Avalon, Pidgeotto, and the team's mommy figure.
Vee, an... eevee, duh, and Psudo's girlfriend for most of the story.
Neon, a nidorino, Nio's younger brother.
Flo, Shinx.
Arma, Riolu.
Siren, Lapras.
Ash, Pikachu (Named after Ash Ketchum, not... actually Ash Ketchum :P)
Atar, Fennekin (Fairy/fire type.)
Chestnut, Treecko.
Azul, a Swellow five times the size of a normal swellow.
Himself, technically, though he considers himself more as belonging to his team.
Technically the entire Pact, but they're, like... 24 pokemon, all with backstory, so I won't get into them. There's also a number of other team members that he doesn't technically own, and other special cases. The collab is currently at, like... 2,000,000 words, so we've got a LOT of characters in this cast xD

Sounds very good, not to mention ambitious!
I like the thing with starter pokemon. Slavery and quasi-slavery is something I really like, and you are rather good at portraying in your stories.
Especially with something like pokemon, where you realise that its a world that indulges in either slavery or animal cruelty depending on te sentience of pokemon.

New Life is going to be looking at many sides of the issue. There are trainers that are genuinely abusive (setting aside, of course, some of the outright cruelty that exists), some are simply selfish, and see their pokemon as a means to an end for personal wealth and glory, others see them as pets, and care for them, but at the same time see them as decidely 'less than human,' if you know what I mean, and then there are others who vehemently treat their pokemon as family, equal to themselves, and gladly put themselves in harm's way in their defense. We also have our own system of pokemon physiology, a pretty deep and thought-out explanation of how pokemon work, how they do what they do, why they can't talk, how they think, etc, etc, and the notion of pokemon battling as slavery or animal cruelty... it's more complicated than that. Pokemon in New Life have things called 'cores,' aligned with their type, and species, and which is capable of generating the impossible amounts of energy to perform the attacks, and absorb damage, like no natural creature ever could. When a pokemon is hit with an attack, their core goes into overdrive and starts pumping out huge quantities of pokemon energy, both for attacking and to absorb additional hits, and this gives the pokemon a massive, euphoric adrenaline rush. Pokemon fight each other, in the wild, in some cases simply because it's fun, and many go jumping out in front of trainers simply because it's a good deal. You get three meals a day, guaranteed, a cozy ball to sleep in, a team to be part of, and all you have to do to earn your keep is... something you enjoy, and would probably be doing a lot of, anyway! For the purposes of New-Life, pokemon intelligence is more or less human, with some differences in patterns of thought and priority.
Sounds very interesting, as I said.
I'm currently doing an RP focused on a pokemon daycare that has a mandatory diaper policy, and It'l probably get turned into a story eventually, assuming my partner agrees.
Pokemon always seemed to be an under explored fandom when it comes to this.

Heh, that certainly sounds cute :) There were a few tangential ideas thrown around in New Life, like spa treatments that involve spending a day as a mentally regressed baby pokemon :P
Sounds lovely!
You've definitely pequed my interest int his new idea of yours.
Looking forward to seeing more!
