Victories Without Cripto
#1: A Magnetic Issue
Magnocat speaking. Haven't heard from me in a while, have you? Well, all the attention's been on Cripto lately, that it's leaving the rest of all pushed out. But what these idiots in the media don't acknowledge is that battles do happen, and the other G-52s are on the case. In some cases, the best things are done in secret, and in other cases, the press needs to get the word out.
As a CIA agent, I played vital roles in Operation Desert Storm that the press didn't speak about, but Cripto was only 1 year old at the time, so it was a case of the media giving humans all the credit. (Only now is it the age of the furry.) This was in 1991, so the computer technologies weren't as advanced as they are now. Not to mention hacking isn't a popular topic because everybody assumes all hackers come from Russia, but yes, I did hack into the enemy's systems during that time, but it wasn't Russia's systems; it was all the technologies that Saddam Hussein was using. It screwed up their weapon technologies and allowed our fighter jets to bomb them to pieces.
But that was then; this is now. Bendraqi is back from the dead, and he's more lethal than ever. The difference is he's gotten smarter, and his robots are more advanced than ever. This is how he was able to use a better set of lasers in order to unleash chaos on one of our projects. The mild-mannered me now works with Symmetrical Steel Construction, the company owned and operated by the amazing Army Ranger, Zax Arctic. What were we building? A new office building for Gradiant Racing Technologies, a city-based company that sponsors Turbo Tiger when he participates in NHRA and IHRA races. (The company does all sorts of racing equipment for cars, but also for tracks.) It did mean that we had to start over, but considering the equipment that we have at the company, it wasn't going to be a problem, and besides, we didn't get very far. It was our first day on the job.
"I thought he was dead!" said one of my co-workers as he ran for cover.
"He was, but he couldn't stay dead," I replied. "You know how the supernatural is these days, both good and evil. Light will forever fight darkness for control of the world." (Note I said this to cover up all things related to the D-19, but I can privately tell you that when Bendraqi died after he accidentally took his own life, Zanta prophesied he'd be back.) I ran to a secluded area where nobody could see me before I transformed into Magnocat; I did so by pulling a magnetic ring I wear out, putting it on my ringfinger and then spinning around rapidly in a circle. When an explosion effect occured, I was now the mighty Magnocat, proudly wearing the orange and blue of my alma mater, Auburn University.
I ran back out to the scene where Bendraqi was releasing his robots rampage. I think he was expecting Cripto to appear, because he was grumbling, "Drat! It's not the tiger! The sooner I can take him down, the better!"
"What did Cripto ever do to him?" I wondered as I activated my electromagnetic palms and began wrecking his equipment. I began to sweat bullets because I didn't want to wreck my own equipment or do harm to my fellow construction workers. It turned out all that got damaged was a bulldozer, but that was Bendraqi's doing, not me.
By the time I took out all of Bendraqi's robots, Bendraqi himself grabbed me with a laser beam trick, and I struggled to escape. "Ungh!" I grunted. "Bendraqi's gotten smarter, all right. He couldn't do this before!"
"Now that I have you, you can never escape!" the villain gaggled in his laughter. "You're the first victim! Once I trap you and the rest of those groupthinking-minded superhero friends of yours, the world is mine! Except I'm not destroying everything this time. I'm just going to conquer it!"
"At least...you're...sparing lives...this time!" I struggled to break free for about 20 more minutes, but since Bendraqi had no more robots to wreck any more havoc, all he could do was continue to maintain me and watch me struggle. He may have gotten smarter and had better robots, but he still has an issue that all villains like him typically have: overconfidence.
20 minutes later, I finally built up enough magnetic strength to free myself from the beam that held me captive, and the beam turned over to Bendraqi's HQ machine (he was using his own robot that served as his HQ machine, which allowed him to have a portable mobile command center from which he could unleash his chaos and destruction; Super C should have something like that one of these days if necessary, so T2 had better get working on that). The machine melted down into smoke, and Bendraqi dropped to the ground, although I caught him so he wouldn't get injured.
"I don't understand this! I had you at my mercy! I was invincible!" Bendraqi gasped as I caught them and threw him over to the police.
"And that's why you failed!" I replied. "As I like to say, 'Overconfidence leads to underperformance.' Think about that." Bendraqi grunted and blew a raspberry in disgust as he let the police arrest him. I sat down to catch my breath as Zax came out to see the damage. He had been protecting his team of construction workers.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Bendraqi did it," I said. "He planned to destroy the city with his robots, and he chose to start here. He didn't get very far. But he did do damage to that bulldozer. I'm afraid you'll have to start over."
"We can do that. This, amazingly, is not going to put us behind schedule."
"I hope not."
We ended up spending the rest of the day cleaning up the mess, and by the next day, we were able to start again. I'm happy to see that the project is going swimmingly, though we still have a long way to go. But when we get the building done, GRT is going to have a brand new HQ. (They would have moved to this location anyways, but a tornado destroyed the old building before they could properly get it demoed. Nobody died, however, because the tornado was on a Sunday.) I did, however, file a report to Super C concerning the incident, so that he could mark it in his files, since he occasionally does file reports about specific attacks if Bendraqi is the one behind it. I sent the message to my boss, and he, in turn, alerted the EPA to get the word out, because Bendraqi is a threat to the environment with his robots. It's just a question of whether the environmental pushers (or the media) are going to take it too far or out of context.
That night, we ate at the G-52 Diner, where Gourmet Gopher was working his magic as he always does. We spent the time there discussing how to start from the top, and how exactly we wanted the building the look compared to the intentions of the architects, and how to involve the contractors. (They always make such a mess themselves!) The TVs were all tuned in to ESPN, allowing us to cheer for our favorite sports teams and keep up with how they were doing. It was a great night to relax, even though it wasn't the hard day's work we were hoping to put in. But like I said, the next day, we were able to start from scratch, and we got the job done.
That's one adventure in the blogs, then; more to come, so stay tuned, everybody.
THE END.

Victories Without Cripto (#1): A Magnetic Issue
This new series will showcase either solo or team battles the G-52s have embarked, without the help of their secret and way too powerful weapon, Cripto. This is in response to the haters all stating Cripto is too powerful, and should have ended all the terrorism, once and for all, a long time ago. But he didn't, because evil cannot be so easily overcome.

Bendraqi being back will be a huge problem for the future, huh? who knows what will happen.
Nobody does. Meanwhile, Cripto is under fire; read this.

Plenty more, because the theme is that Cripto didn't help.
Chuong: As the IRA is growing at a very alarming rate, so are the number of Bendraqi's robots. Its only a matter of time until we face them again.
Rampage Raccoon: Its going to be way more difficult on all of us not just Cripto. Cripto won't do everything and neither us as individuals. Teamwork is everything. My biggest worry is the IRA having access to more advanced weaponry such as the use of laser turrets to shoot down British fighter jets. The day that happens is the day the UK goes all out on Northern Ireland with the British Royal Navy, British Royal Marines, and British Royal Air Force. It would escalate to the point that it would spill out of Northern Ireland and into the Republic of Ireland that its going to be what Iraq was during their days under Saddam Hussein.
Jack: I wouldn't jinx myself if I were you. They are allied with the F5 so they're not too far from that. The side of evil is a lot bigger than us but together, we can stop all of them if we play our cards right. We still need Cripto but he can't do everything so he can't take all the credit of our victories.

Cripto: I do want to say thank you for all your support. When I asked Zanta about the debacle, he said that there needs to be balance in everything. That's really the reason that I haven't destroyed all evil in one fell swoop as this wacko wants me to do.
Magnocat: There's going to be less of you and more of us so the media stops going after you for it.
