I am trying my skill at painting and yes I gave this as a gift to Bunny for her birthday but she had to leave. Any way my momma helped me on this one she did the flowers and I did the blending on it.

yes I have actually seen those in a gallery out here in Laguna Beach CA. I loved every single one of them so much. thank you for showing me this.
in my high school and art college days, i tried so hard to emulate those styles. I still dont know how they do it!
my momma knows how to do that style and she's awesome at it I am just a mere novice at it.
giggles I wish I knew right off the paintbrush but it takes a long time to develop.
I wish I could just emulate a style just by observation
And yeah I understand, but it has eluded me for so long.

My momma taught me that when you start a painting you start with the sky and cover the entire canvas with the sky that way you have a base to work with because it all can be covered up or used in the land base. That's how I start my paintings. Even if it's a red sky purple sky or an orange sky. It works the same to blend from that color to the last paint color put on the painting.
Yeah I've done that. But soemtkmes when I blend the colors don't exactly mix, it kinda removes the underlying color.
Hmm, I don't know if that's the method wyland and similar artists use

no that's not what they use but they do the layer technique and I was taught that way. The blending of the color is to not let the first color dry out and blend that color with a lighter one to make mountains or a lake or an ocean scene that's how I do it I use a spay bottle full of room temperature water with acrylics and turpenoid for oils. it works well for blending my momma taught me that.
Yeah I was told something similar years ago, but wasn't sure what they meant.
So you put the base color layer on, keep it wet, and blend with a lighter color? Does it have to be of the same hue? Or can I tell be different colors?
Yeah I used turpentine as well, but it still would not blend for some reason. Also I used linseed oil too

Wow then you did understand me. You can use any hue as long as it is a lighter one. Because a darker one will make it muddy and not blend to the right color unless your doing darker mountains then it's ok to pull from the lighter paint. I was going to say the other one was linseed oil but you already knew that.
interesting that paint would do that. I didn't know that!. Sure would've helped years ago -_-....
Hmm...how much turpentine do you use?
Yeah L.Oil was my primary use one, i thought turpentine, was a bit too watery

I just do what my momma said make sure the tip of the brush is glistened with the turpentine. that's all I need to help blend the color I am using.
giggles so did my momma lol. And if Bob Ross Was alive he would too. Maybe lol.
It is actually in Colorado. My room mate has the photo and that's when I stayed in boulder Colorado. I attend the CU online college course in law and business law now. Before I had to come out here to take care of my momma. She has pancreatic cancer but she is fighting it and winning and the doctors are all stunned as am I. My moms are both of the strongest moms I know they both love me so much that both of them took the whole week off of work to stay with me in the hospital until I got better, then they switched off with my auntie Cheri. And they live for each other and have always fought any disease with wrath when the other gets sick. Now that I am here I do my best to take care of them both even though they take great care of me now because I am in a wheel chair for the rest of my pathetic life.
Well I am with goddess for what ever she wants for me.
woah that is beautiful art this could be in the AGO (art gallery of ontario)
Talk about some happy trees! ;3
ask your momma aboug that reference. I'm sure she'll have a good laugh.
